upgrading your dejavoo v series terminal

UPGRADING YOUR DEJAVOO V SERIES TERMINAL
(V5, V8, V8+, V9 & V9+ / NON-S)
7/28/16
Dear Valued Dejavoo Customers:
As anticipated we have released the EMV certified software for the Dejavoo V Series
(Non-S). We are proud to say that through hard work and determination we are
able to provide you with these instructions on how to upgrade to the latest release of
EMV Chip software (certified on FDO & TSYS platforms), and if your merchant is
boarded on the TSYS platform the upgrade also includes the SHA-2 security
certificate needed for IP processing. SHA-2 security is technology that did not exist
when the V Series was designed, we are very pleased to be able to accommodate
the needs of you and your merchants by bringing this update to a legacy product,
and doing so prior to the cut off date which has now been extended by TSYS to
January 2017.
Note About SHA-2 Upgrades: TSYS has announced that they have applied for an
extension of the existing SHA-1 certificate until January 2017, this is currently
pending. If your TSYS merchant using SHA-1 processing on IP experiences issues
on August 1, 2016 and you need to get your merchant up and running right away a
partial downloaded may be needed as a quick remedy until you are able to upgrade
to SHA-2 using a USB and the steps in this document.
The steps for upgrading to EMV (Including SHA-2 for TSYS) are outlined for you on
the following pages, be sure to follow the instructions and you’ll quickly be on your
way to chip card processing on your Dejavoo V series terminal. If you have any
questions at all, please feel free to contact our 24/7 support desk using the contact
information below.

NOTE FROM DEJAVOO SYSTEMS
Working with the processing speed and limited memory of the V Line which
is a legacy Line of terminals, and through our vast experience and
perseverance, we have made it possible (through these steps) to upgrade
the V Line with SHA-2.
We continue to work on streamlining and
simplifying this process for you as quickly as possible. However, the steps
in this document are what you need to complete, as the process exists
today, to ensure compliance of SHA-2 by the July 31st deadline.
As soon as the process becomes simplified we will advise accordingly.
Thank you for your understanding.
Kind Regards,
Dejavoo Systems Executive Team

Upgrade Troubleshooting Tips:
Possible issues during vxupdate
1)During firmware and application update the terminal will be stuck on certain
screen and not change for about 10 minutes.
Cause:
- This might be an issue with the USB stick that is connected to the terminal. Most
likely the update stopped as the USB is no longer communicating to the terminal.
Solution:
- Disconnect USB stick from the terminal. The terminal should display an error message.
Replace the USB with a different USB and attempt to redownload
2)After terminal has completed update starting the application will result in a
Code 10 system halt.
Cause:
Terminal ran out of memory
Solution:
Contact our customer service support and we will provide you with an additional file
to resolve the issue.
3)After firmware and application have been updated. During application start up
the application will be display a blank screen.
Cause:
- An application that is not compatible with the new application is installed on terminal.
Example DvGiftApp and DvCheckApp from a previous version.
Solution:
- Restart terminal back in to Program Manager and delete DvGiftApp and or DvCheckApp
