Nineteen Middle School students competed on campus in a spelling bee on January 13. As each word
was read aloud, they quickly wrote it down. Just for fun, Mrs. Renard also gave them the longest word
in the English language: “antidisestablishmentarianism.” These students will go on to compete at the

120,000 Glasses of Milk
That’s how much milk a cow can give in its lifetime, according to
World Vision. A family in Africa is going to get a new cow soon,
purchased with $535.85 raised by the 21 students in Mrs. Renard’s
middle school Bible Homeroom class. At first, the students
planned to buy a goat in early December, but when they raised
enough money for that on the very first day, they got excited and
decided to challenge themselves to buy a cow. They extended
the project deadline until after Christmas vacation, so they could
contribute the Christmas money they received. With a little help from parents and neighbors and friends, they reached their goal this week,
plus a bit extra. “It was fun to work together,” Bella Alejandro said.” “We all got so into it,” said Justine Garcia. “The best part is knowing that we’re going to help a family.”
