LAKE PLACID — Mike Treska of Lake Placid and brother Peter of Boston
won the lowest handicap division in the Men's Invitational Golf tournament
on the upper course at the Lake Placid club.
The three-day, 54 hole tournament was a best-ball-of-twosome, match play
format. Competitors received one point for winning the hold, one point for
winning the side, one-half point for equalling the hole and one half point for
equalling a side.
All winning teams received trophies and golf merchandise.

LAKE PLACID — Sixty-one players participated in a senior tournament at
Craig Wood this weekend.
Bob Strack won the '-'Junior" division (ages 50-59), taking the gross division
with a three-over par 75 and winning the net with a 65. Al Blinn took second in
both the gross and net division with a 75 and 65. Ed Purchell took third in the
gross division with an 84, and Jim Sileo and Ray Levitt tied for third in the net
division with 73s.
Quent Chadwick won both the net and gross divisions in the "Senior" (ages
60 and up) division with an 80 and a 65. Grant Reed and Jim McCasland tied
for second in both'categories with 83 gross and71 net.
In the ladies senior gross division, Nete Drake won with a 92, Eileen Chadwick was second with 96 and Min McCasland was third with 98. Jeri Hilty won
the net division with a $3.
The longest drive went to Ed Merrill and Lid Jackson, both on the ninth
hole. Lynn Wilson and Flo Barry had the closest to the pin.
