In addition to the normal busy
school timetable and parentteacher interviews, we have also
had visits from The Twisty Twinz
who showed us some superb
acrobatic feats and Blenheim
Police with their police car and all
the bells and whistles to show the
children – including the siren.
Hope we didn’t frighten anyone in
the locality!!!
This week school has seemed a bit
emptier for two days with the Yr
7/8 students away at a Leadership
Camp in Rai Valley, learning skills
we hope will be valuable to them
throughout their lives.
Acrobatic Feats!
The Twisty Twinz acrobatic team paid a visit to
school last week, much to the delight of the
children (and adults present) – afterwards the
children wrote stories about it:
Nele and Tobias, the acrobats, came to
our school to show us some cool tricks. I
did a bunk bed. That is when you pair up
with another person and then the other
person lies down pushing their legs and
arms under them and then you climb up on
top of them and then you do the same as
them. They came to Waitaria Bay School
on the 6.3.2015 – Theo.
Ich fonde das Ende am besten. Ich habe handstand gemacht. Die meisten Ubungen haben zwei personen
gemacht. Das ganze haben Nele und Tobias gemacht. Fur akrobatik braucht man korperspannung. I liked the
end most. I made a handstand – Jonathon Berg (9), Germany.
Nele and Tobias, known as the Twisty Twinz, came to our school to show us fabulous acrobatics
and even show us how to do them. We learned how to do many things such as the bunk bed, the
pyramid and the three person handstand and much more. Nele and Tobias travel around New
Zealand doing acrobatics – Zac.
Nele and Tobias, the acrobats, came to our school to
show us some amazing acrobatic displays. First we
started with the basics, then we went on with the fun
challenging stuff like the pyramid which was three
people, two people on the bottom and one person on
top; also the bunk bed where one person is on the
bottom and they are in the shape of a bridge and then
somebody is on top[. Next we did the throne – one
person is lying on the ground with their feet up. Their
feet press against your bum and then you sit on their
feet like a queen on her throne. Secondly they did the
three people handstand. You hold each other’s
shoulders then you put your foot on their hip and then
you put your hands down on the ground and it looked
like a three handed handstand. Soon after Nele and
Tobias per formed a fabulous performance by themselves showing us how to do professional acrobatics. The
whole show was incredible – Tachyon.
The end was best. I learned that you need two or more persons for acrobatics – Josephina Berg
(7), Germany.
Nele and Tobias are amazing acrobats. They showed us lots of things other people will never see. Like my
favourite the bunk. I hope I will see them again. They showed me one of the best things I have seen in my life
and that was very cool – Aiden.
The acrobats’ names were Nele and Tobias.
They performed acrobatics and lots of cool
stuff. I did a pyramid and the caterpillar. It
was cool – Archie.
At the start of the acrobatics we had to lie down
straight like a plank. The best part was the three legged
handstand at the end. It was incredible! Nele and
Tobias did some cool acrobatic things – Maximus.
You have to be very flexible and still to do
acrobatics. The acrobats’ names were Tobias
and Nele. We did handstands and sat on
peoples’ legs and hands. Nele and Tobias performed acrobatics and they twisted backs and were
as high as the roof – Beau.
Nele and Tobias came to our school on 6.3.2015
and showed us amazing things with their
fabulous acrobatic skills. We also did loads of
activities with them including poses of really cool
things like thr throne. I think the throne was one
of the best things that we did; however, I have to
admit that the whole show and activities were
exceptional – Agost.

It’s good to give teeth a rest by limiting snacking to 2-3 times a day. Avoid foods that stick around
the teeth like raisons, fruit leather, roll-ups, dried fruit and muesli bars as they stay in the mouth for a
long time. Aim for ‘Teeth Friendly Snacks’ such as: bread, cheese, raw vegetables, nuts, yoghurt,
unsweetened popcorn and limit any sweet foods to meal times.
