Journey to Space 3D Launches at Whitaker Center Starting January 30
Visually Stunning Film Explores NASA’s Plans for a Manned Mission to Mars
Harrisburg, PA- On Saturday, January 30, 2016, Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts will debut Journey
to Space 3D in the Select Medical Digital Cinema. Through stunning imagery and immersive sound, the film
grants a rare glimpse into what it’s like to go where so few have gone – the planet Mars and beyond. Narrated
by Sir Patrick Stewart, Journey to Space 3D is a must-see in Whitaker Center’s immersive, premier large
format theater.
Journey to Space 3D highlights the history of the NASA space program and some of the most impactful
advances during its existence. The film pays homage to the Space Shuttle Program and those individuals who
paved the way for the astronauts of today. Viewers are introduced to new technology which will make the
future of space travel possible. Orion, NASA’s first spacecraft designed to carry humans on long-duration
deep space exploration missions; Olympus, an inflatable transit habitat; and the Space Launch System, a
giant rocket capable of carrying both Orion and Olympus. With the Select Medical Digital Cinema’s towering
four-story screen, 4K resolution and captivating sound system, guests can marvel at the wonder of space
without ever leaving their seat.
