FROM THE HEADMASTER’S DESK
Welcome back to yet another academic year..
I am looking forward for another year of achievements and success.
I frequently get asked “how's the school doing or what's happening at MCCS?”. Well, lots of good things are happening
in the campus and we praise God for it. Here in MCCS we are committed to helping every student succeed and we
strongly believe that our Mission today is to honour and realize the visions of yesterday. We want you to know that
while pursuing excellence through innovation and improvement we still hold the rich tradition we possess..
Several action plans have been laid and carried out to success. The school is very slowly and meticulously shaping itself
to adapt to the changing world. By slowly I mean the transformation is taking its own pace and by meticulously I mean
to adapt without eating up the morals and traditions. The school has etched itself a place in the changing times and we
are careful not to disfigure it.
In order to mirror the school to all those associated with it and to provide a healthy platform between the school and
the society, we decided to launch the “MCCS Cambuzz” a monthly newsletter which would display all of the school
activities, achievements, records and reports. This Newsletter will be offering a forum where every individual , be it a
teacher, parent student or alumnus can put forward his views, creativity and suggestions.
I wish the editorial team good luck in their new venture. I hope that MCCS Cambuzz would effectively highlight all the
activities of the school and help in bringing out the inherent potential of the students.
Best Wishes

OASIS
When Jesus and His disciples were travelling in a boat, a storm arose. The strong
wind with violent rain and waves broke the boat. The sea water entered into the
boat and the boat was about to sink. The disciples of Jesus were filled with fear
and they didn't know what to do. Finally, they cried to Jesus for help. Jesus
rebuked the wind and said “Quiet be Still”. Immediately the wind died down
and it was completely calm.
At the beginning of this academic year, we would have to face many problems.
We will have to face exams, finish projects on time and some of us may have to
face some pressures at our family also. All we have to do is to cry to our Lord in
times of troubles.
Your problem is never really a problem, but your attitude to the problem is the actual problem. All it takes is just one
prayer and a faithful effort to change everything. No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Likewise God never
allows problems without solutions.
Remember, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Place all your wishes, request and needs before God. Our God
is prayer answering God. God is taking care of you, even when it seems like you are all alone.
God is working hard behind the scene of your life. God is bigger than your problems.
At the beginning of this new academic year, I wish you all success in your endeavors and may you all have a God
centered blessed academic year.

SPL Message
Dear fellow students,
It gives me immense pleasure to address the readers of the first edition of cambuzz.. as the SPL of this esteemed
institution.
I foremost thank my God and then my teachers and my fellow students for given me this opportunity to serve as the
SPL of this esteemed institution. As the SPL I would like to request a few things from my fellow students. Respecting
teachers, adhering to school rules, completing our assignments on time, participating in extra curricular activities are
important for any good student. I request my friends to have this on their mind and behave well for the betterment of
the institution.
Various plans have been designed for bringing up the institution. It is for us to co-operate and make these plans
successfully. If there are any grievances you can come to me and I will do my level best to redress them.
Thank you,
Aakhaash, SPL

Talk with the girls
Madras Christian College Hr Sec School invited the girls to be a part of its campus in commemoration of its 175 years of
service. This academic year the girls were admitted in the higher secondary section. The reaction received to this was
a mixed one. But it did not deter our headmaster from waning away from his decision. Anne Rose and Ashwini who are
in 9th talk to the first batch of 11th standard girls. Interview with 11th Standard Girls:
Why did you choose this school?
Because our brothers are studying in this school.
Who's choice was it; yours or your parent's ?
Us and our parents made the decision together.
You are less in number when compared to the boys in
the class, how are you able to get along with this?
Most of us are from co-ed schools, so we don't feel the
difference.
What do you all expect from this school?
We never had great expectation, but presently we are
getting more than our expectations.
What suggestions do you have to make changes?
Usually girls do not get much opportunity when compared
to the boys. We hope this school of ours will give us equal
opportunities.
What difference do you find in this school when
compared to your previous school?
We find more freedom here compared to our previous
schools.
What was your first experience when you came to this
school?
We were excited to see such a big school.
What is special about this school?
We like the teachers and their teaching. We also like the
school assembly.
Are there any specific requests from your side?
No, there are no such requests.

Interview with the class topper
What motivated you to study well and make this
achievement?
It was only my teachers & parents encouragement.
To whom will you give credit for this achievement of
yours other than you?
My teachers and parents.
Did you expect this score?
No, I expected just 450 like a above average student, but
I got 495.
Where you a very studious boy right from the
beginning?
No, I studied as usual, like everybody else.
What are your comments about the special classes in X
Std?
It was very boring, I used to wonder why special classes
were kept. But they helped me a lot in scoring these
marks.
Just tell us about the way you studied?
No mugging and not very serious studies. Just understood
and wrote. 10th is not very hard, just like any other exam.
What is your ambition in life?
I want to do MBBS and MS after that.
Do you have any role model?
Yes. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is my role model.

Waste Management Column
A Novel Idea from Harrington road residents association:
Every day tonnes of food is wasted all over the world. The situation in Chennai is no different. Every day in houses and
in schools lots of food is wasted. The Harrington Road Residents Association has come up with a novel idea of putting
the waste food to use. They are planning to produce much needed electricity out of the wasted food. Loads of food is
being wasted in our city because the Chennai Corporation isn't doing its job nor are we. We now have the opportunity
to contribute towards putting the wasted food to use. All we need to do is to segregate waste at our end into garden/
kitchen/food i.e. wet waste and other waste, The wet waste can be put into a digester to generate gas [for cooking] or
electricity. Let us all regularly practice segregation of the waste and contribute to the production of much needed
energy. The association has planned to conduct various inter-school competitions and other activities to create
awareness among the residents and also make schools a part of their programme.
At MCCS we are keen to contribute towards this project and look forward to jointly venture with the organisation in
keeping our neighbourhood clean, safe and pollution free zone.
