by Jaiden Egbert
I interviewed five random people from around the school see if you can match them to
their quote.
1. I like to eat pizza that my mom makes and I eat it almost every two weeks.

visited KMA to learn about
broadcasting from the

THE SPOOKY HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN
Do you know how
Halloween started? Most
people don't know because all
we care about is candy,
dressing up, or scaring people.
Halloween started out as the
festival of Samhain.
Samhain is celebrated on
the night of October 31.
Christians in Ireland, the United
Kingdom and northern France,
believed that the dead returned
on Samhain. When Samhain
came around, the people would
leave food and wine on their
door steps so the ghosts would
leave them alone. The kids
would dress up to make it look
like they're monsters so they
won't get attacked when they
leave the house.These are
some fun facts about
halloween.This is Halloween's
history.
There are lots of
Interesting facts about
Halloween. Did you know that
in the old days instead of
having pumpkins they had
turnips as jack-o-lanterns?
Another interesting fact is that
most people prefer chocolate
by Reed Finnegan
more than any other candy. An
average kid’s bag has more
than 11,000 calories inside.
One of the ingredients in
butterfingers is butane(harmful
chemical).
Halloween is a very fun
time for lots of people. They
could be scaring people,trick or
treating, watching spooky
movies, playing xbox, or just
handing out candy. It doesn't
matter, if they're having fun it's
all ok. Have a great halloween
no matter what you’re doing.

Opus Honor Choir
-by Baylee Baldwin
A few weeks ago, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
students auditioned for Opus honor choir. Three
had success and made it in. The three are
Kaitlyn Widger, Sophia Adkins and Alexa
Munsinger. I talked to Kaitlyn Widger who said,
“Opus Honor Choir is a very great experience
and I recommend it to all students. Even if you
don’t make it, it is a great experience and will
teach you a lot!” Mrs. McIntosh also told me,
“The students that won the contest will be
traveling to Ames, Iowa, and will be staying one
night in a hotel with me.” Kaitlyn Widger and
Sophia Adkins will be in the 5th-6th grade choir,
Oh the Weather Outside…

and Alexa Munsinger will be performing with
the 7th-8th grade choir. Their performance will
be broadcasted on the PBS channel Thursday,
November 17th.
Salutations, be sure you start wearing a jacket because it is
getting chilly! This week is turning colder and colder, so cold that
you might even turn into an icicle. Thou should start bundling up. It
is getting to the season when a pumpkin spice latte sounds really
good, and Halloween is closing in. You should start wearing long
pants instead of shorts ,and boots are in season! No short shorts,
uncovered arms, or sandals. You COULD always wear them, but you
will be shivering. Hope you start dressing warm.
To audition, the competitors had to sing My
Country Tis’ of Thee, a C scale, and a song that
the judges had picked out. The one they had
picked was in Italian. To submit their audition
they recorded their voices into an app that Mrs.
McIntosh had, and sent them in. Kaitlyn said,
“The very worst part is the nerve of not knowing
if you got in or not! I was so relieved when I
found out I got in!”
Congratulations to our very talented and

fortunate group of singers. We look forward to
seeing you on TV!

Mr. Robert's 6th grade science grade class has been learning about
molecules in a exciting way. In just two weeks they have made different types of
molecules out of foam balls, wooden dowels, and different colors of paint. The
