Giovanni Calabrò

TYCOONS
the key to
SUCCESS
We have all heard
about
men
or
women
meeting
with extraordinary
success,
having
become important
industrial
and
financial
powers
today, and who
began with nothing
or almost. Their
success,
often
overwhelming, is
mostly the fruit of
perseverance, of a
sharp and clear
intelligence,
of
audacious courage,
matched with a
rare capacity to
find innovative solutions and to estimate the taking of
risks... The career
of
the
Italian
tycoon
Giovanni
Calabro, barely 40
years old today, is
an edifying example
of the commitments and challenges to which these
outstanding personalities are confronted. From the
start out to success, here is the
career of a talented
entrepreneur.
With a law diploma in his pocket
(with distinction) the young
Giovanni Calabro started out in
the small family construction firm
in Italy. He is also a music enthusiast (he has a music conservatory
diploma), and is an accomplished
sportsman (car rallies, boxing, football). He was barely 23 years old
when he decided to go on his own
and created his company, the present name of which is Calfinint,
which 17 years later became an
important holding company gathering some thirty powerful associates. This holding company developed its activities in manifold areas.
Property promotion to begin
with, particularly numerous fulfilments in the Middle East (Dubai,
Riad, Abu Dhabi) and in Italy,
where it concentrated on the purchase of building lands intended for
the development of tourist and
hotel plans. But besides a musical
production company (his hobby),
and investments in the field of
health services, it is especially in
pure finance that Giovanni
Calabro orientated the activities of
Calfinint, which holds the first
European position today in
redemption of credits and debts of
States and to banking establishments. Thanks to these activities
and according to reliable financial
sources, the Net Asset Value of
Calfinint is to this day more than 5
billion euros.
success is
the fruit of
perseverance
& of sharp
intelligence,
Under the impulsion of its
energetic chairman, and
thanks to the effectiveness of
an infallible “Staff”, the holding company continues developing with new partners,
Swiss and Russian in particular. His new objective : trade
and provisioning for defence
of strategic raw materials
(copper and nickel among
others).
Mining effervescence and a shower of
dollars to boost the
mining industry
occur when the USA
pull out all the stops
to assure the
independence of
their supplies
What does the term “strategic” precisely mean?
These are critical metals because : they are essential in
an economic activity such as health, security or defence. They were often neglected and abandoned by the
mining activity. Rhodium (its price was multiplied by six
in two years, passing from 1 000 $ an ounce to 6 000 $
an ounce) is necessary in the catalytic converters of the
car industry, platinum is a catalyst for which there is no
substitute in certain chemical reactions, molybdenum is
necessary to steels in aeronautics and to oil well boring,
lithium and rare earths are used by advanced electronics. Being rare is not everything. “Rare earths”, do not
deserve their name and are found in abounding quantity
everywhere. But following environmental pressures, the
USA have ceased all extractions. The monopoly is consequently detained by China, bismuth, chromium,
cobalt, copper, tin, indium, nickel, selenium, titanium, wolfram and zinc. If the mention of copper can make one laugh, the Federal Reserve
Bank of Chicago recalled however in February
2007 the idea of progressively withdrawing the

penny from circulation to avoid its recycling at
the market price (more important than the
facial value of the coin). In concrete terms, it is
going to mean a shower of dollars on the activities of canvassing and of recycling, of taking of
financial interests in mines located in friendly
countries, the creation of strategic supplies...
The activities of Calfinit in the area of strategic
raw materials therefore have sunny days in
front of them.
Passions and private life of an international magnate of finance
Giovanni Calabro, besides his residences in London and Monaco,
his grandiose villas in Rome on the lake Bracciano with private
heliport, and in Cairo in the quarter of Zamalek, and a vast flat
right in the centre of Milano, is acquiring in Geneva an important
historical ownership located in the smart and residential quarter
of Cologny; he is also looking for a large sailing boat the port of
registry of which would be on the French Riviera. His other passions: his rare watch collection. He has more than 130, and proves to be particularly proud of a watch made by the Monegasque
jeweller Repossi and of a unique piece which was offered to him
by one of his Russian partners. One would be for less : this watch,
specially made in his intention by the Franck Müller establishment
is extremely rare and bears 62 karats of diamonds! This discreet
jet setter (who fluently speaks 4 languages) and his wife Angela,
a delightful Colombian, past model mother of a 16-year-old son
(they are the true reference point of this man very linked to his
family and particularly to his son Stefano), maintain very good
terms with several governments, and we were able to see them
quite often in the most classy and private establishments of
Monaco together with Marina and Pier Silvio Berlusconi (the children of the present head of the Italian government).
