Benefits of Membership Mission of Rotary International Membership Proposal The worldwide association of Rotary clubs is dedicated to providing service to others, to promoting high ethical standards, and advancing world understanding, goodwill and peace through a fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.
As Sponsors, we have reviewed this Membership Proposal and Application with this prospect and believe that she/he qualifies for membership based on the following expectations: There are many reasons to join Rotary... Networking Rotary allows club members to meet regularly and enlarge their circle of business and professional acquaintances. Rotarians represent a cross‐section of our community’s business owners, executives, managers, political leaders, and professionals‐‐ people who make decisions and influence policy. We hold weekly luncheon meetings with first‐class speakers each Friday at the IDS Center. We encourage active participation in our meetings and in our local and international service projects.  Supports the mission of Rotary International.  Is a civic‐minded leader with strong standing and demonstrated achievement and solid success in a business or profession.  Has previous community service experience and/or a desire to become involved and contribute to Rotary’s community service.  Has control over own calendar so as to participate in meetings and service activities.  Is able to afford the cost of Rotary membership and contribute to fundraising initiatives.  Respects diversity and can see Rotary as a fine opportunity to develop friendships. The women and men of our diverse club voluntarily contribute their time and expertise to the service activities in which they are most interested. We have a positive impact on humanitarian projects both abroad and in Minneapolis, including a large group of local schools. Rotarians regularly experience the fulfillment that comes from giving back to the community. Friendship Rotary was founded in Chicago in 1905 based on fellowship, a cornerstone that continues to attract members today. Rotarians enjoy camaraderie with like‐minded professionals, and club projects provide opportunities to develop enduring friendships. Club members who travel have friendly contacts in almost every country in the world! Leadership Rotary is a service organization of successful professionals. Team‐building, fundraising, public speaking, planning, organization, and communications are just some of the leadership skills that club members can exercise and enhance. Being a Rotary leader provides further experience in motivating, inspiring, and guiding others. Ethics Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. The Rotary Club of Minneapolis is a large group of civic‐minded business and professional leaders who join together for fellowship, fun, professional enrichment and opportunities to serve others. We ask our members to contribute financial support for our service projects. The Minneapolis Rotary Foundation and The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International are both 501(c)(3) organizations.
