Manatee Lagoon Center │ FPL Eco-Discovery Center Trip
FREE - first 19 participants/ May23, bus leaves @ 9AM
RSVP by19th NO REFUNDS
Our field trip options offer a look into the world of manatees and their local habitat, Lake Worth Lagoon. Our Manatee Masters will
discuss manatee biology and ecology, while also sharing details about the lagoon’s estuarine habitat and how electric energy production helps manatees survive chilly seasonal weather.
Exhibit Gallery – our Manatee Masters will guide groups on a walking tour through our exhibit gallery, providing insight about “all
things manatee” and the Lake Worth Lagoon ecosystem.
Observation Deck – our observation deck is an ideal spot to view a
variety of marine life that spend time in the warm-water outflows
from Florida Power & Light Company’s adjacent Riviera Beach
Next Generation Clean Energy Center. While this spot that provides up-close viewing of manatees that may frequent the area is
especially popular during colder weather conditions, there is almost
always something to see in the waters that surround the center.

Tai Ji Quan
Tai Ji Quan is a gentle form of physical activity ideal for seniors who have uncertain balance and a fear of
falling. It is sometimes described as “meditation in motion” because it promotes serenity through gentle
movements, connecting the mind and body. Tai Ji Quan may be done sitting down and adapted for those with
special needs including people in wheelchairs.
