About Kennedy Health Alliance
The Kennedy Health Alliance is a network of
primary and specialty care physician practices
throughout southern New Jersey that provides
patients with high-level, efficient healthcare
services, close to home. KHA acts as a “gateway”
to good health – connecting patients and their
family members with medical expertise, primary
care and specialty services. KHA’s team of medical
professionals uses a coordinated approach to care
that focuses on each patient’s individual needs,
while linking their patients to other important
services, including medical specialists, hospitals,
home health care, laboratory testing, and various
outpatient programs, as needed. For more

Healthcare as a Two-Way Street
Technology has changed the way we communicate,
shop and work. Now it’s changing the way healthcare
information is stored and shared – in ways that
benefit and empower patients.
The Kennedy Health Alliance’s MyPatientPortal is a
secure, confidential and easy-to-use Web site that
provides our patients with 24-hour access to selected
parts of their medical records. This free service is
designed to help KHA patients easily manage and
receive important health information.
This same information can be available on your
Smartphone through a free, downloadable application
(APP) called healow. This easy-to-use APP will
allow you to access the same information as the
MyPatientPortal, right at your fingertips!
How Can MyPatientPortal Benefit Me?

How Secure is My Medical Information on
MyPatientPortal?
Your information is extremely secure. The information on
the Portal is merely a snapshot of your medical record,
not the actual record. This “snapshot” is maintained on
a secure server.
How Do I Register for MyPatientPortal?
If you would like to have access to the KHA patient
portal, just notify our staff at the front desk. You will be
provided with a user name and password so you can
register and then access this free service.
Can I Ask Emergency-Related Questions Through
MyPatientPortal?
The portal’s two-way communication feature will allow
you to electronically contact your healthcare provider
about non-urgent issues, without having to pick up a
phone. MyPatientPortal is not to be used for emergencyrelated healthcare issues. Please call your KHA provider’s
office directly with any questions you need answered
within one business day or sooner.
How Will I Know If a Request Made Through
MyPatientPortal Has Been Addressed?
You will receive an email to the address you provided
to your KHA office telling you to log into the patient
portal to review the reply or actions taken.
How Long Does it Take for Requests to be
Processed?
Your healthcare provider will respond to your
messages and requests as soon as possible. Many
requests can only be processed during your doctor’s
regular business hours, as they are patient-specific
medical concerns.
Do Messages Sent and Received Through My
PatientPortal Become Part of My Medical Record?
Yes, messages you send within the patient portal –
along with responses to those messages – become
part of your medical record.
Your Privacy is Important to Us!
Secure email addresses will be used to send notices
about new information and other helpful messages
to patients enrolled in MyPatientPortal. If you choose
to participate, your name and email address will be
treated with the same care and privacy as your medical
record. This information will NOT be sold or leased.
If, for any reason, you think your patient portal account
has been compromised, call your KHA physician’s
office immediately. Your account will be disabled and
you will be issued a new user name and password.
