Hammerschlagen Game Details: Game consists of a large log of wood, a bricklayer hammer and one nail for each player. The guest of honor or an opposing player taps each nail into the log roughly a centimeter. Team should quickly select which team, and which player will start the game. This player starts all rounds. The hammer is passed around the log, and each player can do one of the following; a. Attempt to strike the nail with the thin end of the hammer b. Attempt to straighten nail with up to five taps of hammer c. If a nail has been bent, they may remove their or a teammate’s nail and replace with a new one. d. Once a player has driven their nail to or below the surface, they may attempt to strike a teammate’s nail. Game continues until an entire team has all of its nails down. If there are remaining players in the round, they all get one additional swing of the hammer. If there is a tie, each team will select one player to go head-to-head against the other team. Nails will be pounded down 2 inches. The winner of this round wins the game. Players needed: - Two players from each team must participate. Additional Rules: Players will get one warning, and then disqualified for the following; o Players cannot line up their shot directly above the nail o Only one hand may be used while swinging the hammer o Hand must be on the end of the grip (no choking up) * If disqualified, the player leaves the game and their teammate must hammer down all team nails. If the nail is accidently tapped while winding up swinging, player forfeits that turn. o If the player accidently swings the hammer down, they forfeit their next turn. Drinks will be handed out based upon the hammer hitting the nail. o If a player misses the nail head, they must take a drink from their beer. o If a player strikes the nail head, he is allowed to hand out one drink. Drinks may also be handed to those watching the game and not participating. o Players must assign drinks before their next turn
