Accessing email through the Webmail interface

Accessing email through the Webmail interface
Open your internet connection. You will need to browse to http://mail.domain.com where
domain.com is the last part of your email address after the “@”. For example, if your email
address is [email protected] then you would type in http://mail.ccbs.ca and hit enter.
Once on the logon page for your web mail interface you will need to type in your email
address and your email password.
If you do not know your password, please email your company name and direct
phone number to [email protected] and someone will contact you
shortly with your password.
Click on the “Login” button to proceed.

Once you are logged in, your interface will look very similar to the screenshot below.
From here you can send and receive email much like you would do from within your email
program. In addition to this, you can add people to your “white list” that are found in the spam
folder as well as “black list” any spam that is found in your inbox.
A “white list” is a list that allows email to be delivered from you regardless if the system
believes the message is spam or spam related. A “black list” is a list that will always treat the
sender’s mail as spam and will file it appropriately.
Simply click on the Spam folder in the list as shown below and any emails that have not yet
been delivered will be displayed to the right of the folders list.

Once you have clicked on the Spam folder, you can click on any of the emails shown in the
right hand pane and it will be highlighted, selected, and displayed in the lower pane of the
window.
In the lower pane, you have a number of options – two of which are adding the sender to your
“black list” (the red arrow), or adding the sender to your “white list” (the green arrow).
By selecting “Black List Sender” (the red arrow), you are essentially blocking any and all
emails from that particular email address. So going forward any emails sent from that email
address will be rejected. Additionally, the message will be sent to the trash folder and
deleted.
By selecting “White List Sender” (the green checkmark), you are telling the system to always
allow email from that email address, regardless of the nature of the email. Additionally, the
email will automatically be moved to your inbox.
