Tikkun Layl Shavuot Overnight..
Youth program begins at 11:15pm. 5th-7th Graders and 8th-12th Graders break into groups for a night of games and
learning with Sam & Ayala, Adina Steinberg, Rabbi Seth Braunstein, Yoav Cohen, Rabbi Avi Orlow, Yehudit Goldberg, Ari Marder,
and Akiva Marder. Lots of snacks , cheesecake and bake your own pizza competition concluding with sunrise teen minyan
Adult Program begins at 11:30pm and continues until 4:50am. Partake in learning sessions on interesting topics given
by Rabbi Marder, Adina Steinberg, Carmella Abraham, Rabbi Avi Orlow, David Zimbalist, Yehudit Goldberg and Yoni Brander.
Snacks will be served to keep you going

Graduates Kiddush Sponsorship
On Shabbat, June 13, we will be honoring our graduates at our annual HIWP Graduates' Kiddush. If you know someone who is
graduating (or has graduated) this year from pre-school, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, high school, college,
graduate school, professional school, vocational school, or any other school or program, you can co-sponsor the Kiddush in
honor of your graduate, by using the following link: https://hiwp.org/grad-kiddush/ (If you have more than one graduate in
your family, you will be charged only one time.) Or you can call or e-mail the office, and give the name of the grad, the school
or program, his or her grade (if applicable), and the name(s) of the sponsor(s). The names of the graduates will be read from
the bimah and listed, along with the names of the co-sponsors, in the Large Social Hall. The cost of co-sponsorship is $75 per
family.
Two Exciting Events for Members over 50
The first event is Shabbat Lunch on May 30th, following service. The lunch will be a scrumptious dairy lunch with plenty of
schmoozing and singing. The fee is $18 per person. Please RSVP by May 26.
The second event is a Trip to the Bronx Botanical Gardens on June 11th to view the Frida Khalo exhibit. Audrey Reich will
be our tour guide. We will meet at the shul at 9:30am to carpool to the Botanical Gardens. The cost is $18 per person or free
for members of the Gardens. Please bring a bagged lunch to enjoy with the group at the Gardens. RSVP to one event or both

An Evening with Yeshiva University
Join us at 8pm on June 8 for an evening with Rabbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik and YU President Richard Joel at the
Young Israel of New Rochelle, 1149 North Avenue in NR. Rabbi Dr. Soloveichik’s topic will be “Serving G-d
and Man in the Twilight Zone: A religious Reflection on Bein Hashemashot. President Joel will discus “Yeshiva
University Today and Tomorrow” following by Q & A. Light refreshment will be served.
Centennial Treasures - A Look Back in Time
1968: The synagogue was filled for services for Army Capt. Herbert Glazer, 28, who was killed on
his third tour of duty in Vietnam. As a boy, Herbert had been a HI choir member. Mr. and Mrs.
Solomon Glazer buried their son in the Hebrew Institute section of Sharon Gardens Cemetery.
