DAY 1
Hello, everyone! Welcome. My name is Claire, and I will be guiding you through our online discussion over the next 3
days.
I am very excited to learn about your thoughts and opinions in regards to music, and to see how you respond to the
thoughts and opinions of your fellow participants. I encourage you to be as honest, open, and detailed as possible,
because there is no right or wrong answer!
So, here’s how the discussion will work…
I will post questions/activities today, tomorrow, and Friday. It is important to visit each day that questions are posted.
Please log in once early in the day and once in the afternoon or evening. Each task will probably take you about 15
minutes/day. You can participate anywhere and spend as much time on the site as you desire. Before getting started,
please don’t forget to complete your user profile, and add a picture so we can all get to know you better!
To answer a question or respond to a post, simply click on the red button in the bottom left corner that says “You have not
replied. Click here to reply,” type your response in the space provided, and click on the “Submit” button. Please
completely answer each question and be as conversational as possible, details are great! Any questions that you have not
answered will have a large red button saying “You have not replied. Click here to reply”. This way you can easily tell what
you still need to answer.
Keep an eye out for follow-up questions from me. I may ask questions of you specifically or to the group as a whole. To
easily see if you have follow ups you can look at your Project Alerts box on the left of your screen and if you see a number
beside "Unanswered Follow Up Questions" you'll know I have put something in specifically for you. Just click on that
number and it will be brought up on the screen for you.
There are no wrong answers, and I am not looking for everyone in the group to agree, so if you have a different opinion
from other participants, please jump in and let me know what you are thinking, too. And again, feel free to “talk” to each
other (through your posts) about issues that relate to the subject we are discussing.
They may trigger additional thoughts on your part.
There are some really good help articles and “How-To’s” on this website if you run into questions about how to use
QualBoard: http://participanthelp.qualboard.com (you can also click “Help Desk” on the top right of your screen to get to
this site.)
If you have technical difficulties of any kind while participating in this discussion, please click “Chat with QualBoard
Customer Support” or “Submit Support Request” at the bottom right of your screen. A technical representative will reply
promptly during normal business hours (within 24 hours of your request).
One other thing – typos and spelling mistakes don’t matter, we all make them!
Finally, and most importantly, please have fun with this! Looking forward to connecting with you all.
- Claire
