BARBARA HOUWERS

The central theme in the works of Barbara Houwers
is the strength of man in an expressionistic figuration.
Over the years Houwers developed a style with a
number of recurring themes and elements. The oblong
format with graceful but strong figures becomes a
recognizable pattern. At the intersection of figuration
and abstraction, they tell their story about the human
being in all its facets. Her technique is striking with
strong lines and expressive gestures. The material used
in this stage becomes looser, with sand, structures and
an extraordinary transparency.
The main characters in Houwers’ work are present in
an intuitive and expressive way in their surrounding
area, leaving much to the imagination, and perform
in a snapshot of life in all its facets.
Barbara painted this creation inspired by the film and
Wim Hof’s nature. She donates the peice to support
the making of the film.

Briony is a singer-songwriter who writes songs about
the contact with nature, yourself and your inner child.
She is director of the elementary School Butterflywise
in Antwerp and she gives coaching trainings in
innovative parenting and education. She also
organizes various events (festivals and conferences)
and composes many “educational and
children’s songs“.
Inspired by Wim Hof Method and Manely’s Film she
composed & wrote the song ‘Ice Whispering’. Together
with Mathias Van den Bosch she premiered the song
during the Gala event 21 May 2016. Together they
are ‘Elemental Dream’, heartwarming and intimate
music for any life-changing moment.
For the benefit of the Wim Hof Film, Elemenal Dream
donated an exclusive private livingroom concert.
‘Elemental Dream’will take you on a magical sound trip

Collegue singers and critics consider Mick Harren as
one of the best national technical singers and the public
loves his work. He is a supreme Dutch Folk Singer.
Besides singing he has another pasison. He paints and

in a modern tenue which is often commissioned due
to the original portrets he makes to honour celebreties

From a young age, Femke was drawn to the path of
mysticism and spirituality. Her natural talents to “serve
the arts”, as she likes to call it, and her openness to the
unseen worlds, made it possible for her to come closer
to the Divine through working with lots of different art
forms and esoteric knowledge. While studying art
therapy in Leiden she discovered she had the talent to
compose angelic harp music. At the moment she works
as an artist, teacher on spiritual subjects and a harpist.
Femke donates one of her unique en chamring Harp
Recitals to help fund the film.

There is a lot to discover in an intuitive painting.
Most interesting is that anyone can do this after some
exercise. You let your subconscious speak. Results are
surprising. It calmes you down. You can overcome
internal blocks. After about 50 drawings this is her first
painting. This painting gives her a feeling of happiness,
furthermore it’s up to you as the spectator to interpret it.
Josephine Rozenberg is intuitive drawing group leader,
physician and writer of life stories.
Her painting is inspird by the film subject and Wim
Hof’s nature to help others in their lifes and evolution.

JORAM BARUCH
Joram Baruch Art
Joram Baruch was born on May 16, 1962 in Laren.
He is a multifaceted artist with a good understanding
of aesthetics. Whether if it is in visual arts, music, or
fine arts Joram discovered at a young age that in these
mediums, similar principles apply. When he was 18 he
started working as a graphic
designer and entertainer. In the following 5 years
he got further acquainted with the realm of creative
expression and attended the art academy “Instituto
Europeo di Design” in Milano to study industrial
design.
Back in Holland he started to work as a manager and
booker for EuroPop, one of Europe’s biggest music
agencies. Later he was also involved in film- and video
productions in the entertainment industry. In 2001,
Joram moved to Samara, Costa Rica where he
founded, build and designed the first lounge on the
Pacific Coast of Latin America, called “Shake Joe’s”,
which soon became famous around the globe.
In 2012 he returned to Europe and started his new
passion Art and since then made over 120 different
paintings and participated in over 12 exhibitions
in Europe and Israel where he moved in 2014.
Now back in the Netherlands he continues Art and
participates in many charities.

Though this passionate female photographer and artist
normally creates rather different images then the one
asked to donate at the benefit gala, she felt very
honored with the opportunity to be part of this
phenomenon that could bring big mental and
physical changes to the world’s health.
Sitárih has a huge interest for the being within, the
spiritual being, and expresses this interest often in her
photography. Most of her images are strongly colored
and have high contrasts. These are of big influence on
how the pictures “feel”.
Het Photo Art Collage is composed of hundreds of
pictures of Manely and Wim taken during reserach
meetings and film shoots!
There is only one piece. Two more will bonded so this
makes this piece a collectors item.

LORENA AND JORY TANGO
UK European Champions Tango Stage 2015

Lorena and Jory are a special dance couple (brother
and sister) who both started dance at a very young
age and in their early twenties became addicted to the
Argentine Tango. They were both trained in Buenos
Aires by various well-known maestros and Lorena has
even given shows and workshops with some of them.
Their style of dancing is known as spectacular, musical,
playful and elegant.
These characteristics are also included in their classes
combined with a good dose of humor every once and
a while. Through the years they developed a teaching
method that is very successful with regular dancers.
They also worked on a program of Tango in relation
with group therapy and Tango coaching in leadership.
In June 2015 Lorena and Jory became 1st in the UK
European Tango Festival and Championship in London
in both categories: Tango Stage/Show and Tango
salon/.
They also became the UK European Champions in
Tango Stage and achieved a 2nd place at Tango
Salon/ Improvise.
During the Wim Hof Gala Lorena & Jory gave an
aamzing presentation of Argentine Tango: one
improvisation and the winning show.

MIRJAM VAN BEIJSTERVELDT
Mirjam’s Blog
Mirjam van Beijsterveldt (1976) grew up in Terneuzen,
Zeeland. She still visits frequently, for example to read
from her children’s books at elementary schools. Her
first book “The adventures of the Huunkbird” was
published in 2012, followed by the sequel “The
Huunkbird and the Supermosquitoes in Sweenjoland”
in 2013. Both books were illustrated by Corine
Brouwers. Together with Madeleine van der Raad
Mirjam wrote “Tips for the sad cow” in 2015 for both
childeren and adults. This book tells the uplifting story
of the sad cow Carolina and her ever optimistic friend,
the bird Victor.

The writer leads a very mobile existence. When in the
Netherlands, Amsterdam is her home. There she works
as a NT2 teacher, Spanish teacher and waitress in
a pizzeria. The last few years she worked online for
website beslist.nl from various beautiful Latin
American locations. She spent a lot of time in Mexico
and Argentina. Two years ago she started practising
yoga in Mexico which she has been doing ever since.
In Argentina she discovered a new hobby: kayaking.
At the moment Mirjam is staying in Uruguay, enjoying
the South American summer.

After several years of concentrating on his work as an
artist and a writer, photographer René Frese (I BLIND
POET) created a new photo studio ‘B”FLOOR Studios.
in 2014. This in order to reactivate his career in
photography. Having worked in Antwerp, Milan,
Bangkok and Haiti, he settled back in Amsterdam.
Besides exhibitions all over the world, his work has
also been published and reviewed in several
international magazines. Frese has one motto: “I am
powerless over people, places and things, but at least I
am able to photograph them.” He refuses to be framed
in one specific category, as he says: “To photograph
people is beautiful and in order to photograph beauty
or fashion, one needs people. Therefore, I can’t divide
my work into categories. No matter what I photograph,
it is always about people.” Since October 2015 René
Frese has been working on an ongoing project “THE
GIRL CALLED ROSE. In December that same year,
Frese started photographing still lives and the concept
encompasses human behaviour.

Dutch Contemporary Artist.
Sylvia-Monique Blankendaal (1976) is a conceptual
Dutch artist, based in Amsterdam.
Having studied cultural anthropology, her academic
background has shaped her basic stance towards
life: ‘Always question everything’. In her art she is
fully autodidact, her style can best be described as
mathematical, yet fluid and intuitive. She ‘paints’ with
glass, whilst hand cutting the glass and gold pieces,
making all of
Sylvia-Monique’s work unique pieces. One theme she
explores in her work are the abstract city landscapes.
Another recurring theme in her work is the balance
between the elements of nature. Sylvia-Monique’s glass
panels create the illusion of being windows, again
highlighting the main theme of her work. The ultimate
illusion of reality.
Sylvia made a unique Mirror Art to support the film.

Tristan Visser is a musician from the island of
Terschelling. Nature has always been a great source of
inspiration for his music. At the moment he is focusing
on instrumental electronic music with influences from
different cultures for his live act TRYBE. He is in his final
year at the Academy for Pop culture in Leeuwarden.

VLADA LISINENKO

Vlada Lisineko was born in the Ukraine and has been
firmly rooted in the Netherlands since 2001. From
a young age her creative talent was ever present
and it went without saying that she would become
an artisit. Leonardo da Vinci, Jeroen Bosch, Duerer,
Repin, Rembrandt… her mother’s art books with these
inspiring teachers captured her attention far more than
any children’s stories ever could. Vlada’s childhood
dream was initially given up for a career in science
and as a PA. However, during her third year of her
Telecommunication and IT degree she found herself
working in the creative sector. This time as a designer.
In the Netherlands she expanded her graphic and
visual skills at the Windesheim University of Applied
Sciences. In 2008 the company ‘Anyidea’ was born.
Currently the company has chosen to use the name
‘VladaVisuals’ and focusses its expertise predominantly
on visual communication, coaching and training and
art. The latter strongly appealed to Vlada so much that
it is this in which Vlada promotes herself as a ‘visual
artist’, under the name ‘Vlada ArtVibes’.
Vlada will paint live on stage with Wim Hof.

Dutch/Catalan artist and filmmaker with Andalusian
roots. He is the artistic director of the Ellamo
Foundation. During his study at the NFTVA in
Amsterdam Manely was responsible for eight
graduation films as an editor, co- director and/or coproducer. Predominantly films with a challenging social
and humane theme such as the critically acclaimed film
“Wally Tax - Outsider” [Wally Tax - Outsider].
As a 2nd year film student he worked, aside from the
film academy, with the Cuban director Lázaro Burría
Perez as producer and editor on the likewise acclaimed
film “Isa a portrait”, which was selected and received
a honourable mention in Locarno [www.pardolive.
ch]. The film received awards such as the one for best
fiction at the Unesco Film Festival.
Nowadays Manely focuses on films and projects that
matter; films with social and humane values. To this
purpose he set up the Ellamo Foundation and later the
production company Maria Isabel Productions (M.I.P.).
His fiction feature films will always incorporate a theme
of human and social interest as well. They are inherent
to the nature of Manely, the artist, who has been
