He has appeared in Nick Nicholson's Music video "Grandpa's Still", the staged reading of "8"The Play, and is currently working with UAB's Department of Medicine on a training video. Dave also rock ‘n rolls with his own hand crafted guitars. Byron King was born in Jacksonville, NC into a military family. As a result, his travels led him to UAB where he majored in Performance Theatre. There he was cast in such plays as Caucasian Chalk Circle, Macbeth, and Venus. He currently works as the lighting director of the Dorothy Jemison Day theatre. Tonya Marshall is thrilled to have another opportunity at Aldridge Repertory Theatre since being the narrator in the annual production of Langston Hughes' Black Nativity. Since 2007, Tonya has been blessed to be a part of the Birmingham theatre community, in such roles that include Helen Robinson in To Kill A Mockingbird, Lena "Mama" Younger in Raisin in the Sun, and Mammy in Wiley and the Hairy Man at South City Theatre. A Three-Act Play With Theatre Downtown, she has appeared as Tituba in The Crucible, the Abbess in Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, and most recently, you may have seen Tonya as LaSonia in The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Park Housewife. Special thanks to: Family and friends for all of their love and support. Kenya Mims, originally from Huntsville, Alabama is a graduate from Calhoun Community College. Upon graduating she continued her studies in theatre performance at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Currently she is a UAB Tour Company member and manager for the production, “Bookends". Recently, Kenya starred in her first one-woman show in The Festivals of Ten Minute Plays in the play “39 Years of Peach Cobbler.” After gradation Kenya will continue pursing her dreams in becoming an actress. Ken Moorer is excited to be participating in his first stage reading with Aldridge Repertory Theatre, Inc. He has performed around the city for various theatre groups. Some of his favorites include: Ruined, A Raisin in the Sun, The Odd Couple, and 12 Angry Men. Currently Ken is a member of the Aldridge Repertory Board of Directors. T'Darius Murphy was born September 10, 1985 and raised here in Birmingham, Alabama. From a young age he dreamed he would see his name on billboards and in bright lights from that very moment he went on to do several commercials, numerous stage plays and theatre plays including the play hit Langston Hughes' Black Nativity where he portrays as Zed a "no good shepherd" he calls that role his defining moment.. Bates Redwine is pleased to be a part of this new work. Most recently, Bates directed one of the short plays in All in the Timing at Theatre Downtown. He also recently played Lucinda Marsh in Devil Boys From Beyond at Theatre Downtown, and Jarrod Hilly Hilliard in Clark Gable Slept Here at Terrific New Theatre. Other favorite roles include Christopher in Tribes and Russ/Dan in Clybourne Park at Birmingham Festival Theatre, and The Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show and Mother Superior in The Divine Sister at Theatre Downtown. Bates also serves as President of Theatre Downtown’s Board of Directors. Yasha Stewart is twenty six years old and resides in Birmingham, Alabama. Her production work began with The Black Nativity, directed by Cheryl Hall. While in attendance of True Love Church (Ensley, AL) she has written numerous dramas and plays, which incudes, “He Lives” surrounding the resurrection of Christ, “HiStory” about the beginning of the creation, “About that Life” which targeted the different struggles youth and young adults face every day, “From then To Now” a journey through segregation to modern day and “In the Heat of the Night: A Slave Child Chronicle” depicting the journey of a slave.
