HB Administration Grant Reduction It is anticipated that the Government will reduce the Customer Services Andy Brown grant available to support Housing benefit Administration by around £110k in 2017/18 from 2016/17 levels. A commensurate reduction in cost will be negotiated with CIVICA (the Council's Revenues and Benefits Contractor). Education Services Grant The Government have amended their approach to Learning and Skills Graham Talbot Reduction Education Services Grant in 2017/18 by routing a reduced level of funding through the Dedicated Schools Grant. Whilst the MTFP assumes a negative impact of £250,000 for 2017/18, and therefore a need to make commensurate savings, the detail of activity is subject to on going liaison with the Schools Forum and will subject to finalisation in the coming weeks. The MTFP as approved in February 2016 provided Customer Services Andy Brown funding to meet the costs of the Local Assistance Scheme in 2016/17 and 2017/18. There is currently no funding identified to continue the scheme into 2018/19 and beyond. It is anticipated that decisions regarding the future of the scheme will be taken in autumn 2017 in the light of both scheme operation and a wider update of the MTFP.
