Longleat VIP Tour Information - Tiger/Lions/Cheetah Experience FAQ What do I do now? Your VIP Experience gift voucher is valid for six months from the date of purchase. Once you have received your voucher it is advisable to pre-book a minimum of four weeks before your visit. This is so that where possible we can schedule your Experience in on your preferred date. Please note that there may be occasions where this is not possible so we ask that you have a couple of options. To pre -book your Experience, please call our VIP team on 01985 845100 or email [email protected]. Availability? Our experiences are popular with some of them being exclusive. We will do our best to accommodate your initial dates but please do have other date options. What’s included in the experience and what should I receive when I book? We have listed what is included on your confirmation letter. Please refer to your letter or visit www.longleat.co.uk/vip. You will receive your VIP vouchers and further information when you purchase your experience. Once you have called and booked your date, you will receive your final confirmation. Please bring this with you to Longleat. What time shall I arrive? Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time. How long does it last? Each experience is different; please refer to our website for full details of your experience. Where do we meet our guide? On the day, as you approach Longleat, please follow directions to Longleat Safari Park/Longleat House. Enter the Estate through our main entrance Longcombe Tolls, through our fast track lane, where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful view of the Longleat landscape. The meeting point is at the main entrance to the Safari, please report to the Safari Office. Please follow the sign for Safari. What are the age restrictions? For the Tigers and Lions these experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 6 year olds. For the Cheetahs experiences these are suitable for adults and children over the age of 10 year olds. Children between the ages of 6-14 must be accompanied by a guardian/parent who will be required to purchase the full VIP experience. There are a few other experiences that have different age requirements such as the Big Cat Feed which is for adults only. Specific medical conditions? If you are pregnant we would advise you not to touch any of the animals during your experience due to cross-contamination that may be passed on to mother or baby. What should we wear? Due to the nature of the terrain and unpredictable weather sensible footwear and clothing should be worn. Can I bring a guest? Yes you can. Additional spectators will need to pay normal day ticket admission. Admission tickets can be purchased via our website or on the day. Please note that spectators who have not purchase the VIP experience will not be able to take part or view your experiences in any way. Vehicle Accessibility? The vehicle used is a 4 x 4 Landrover. There are steps to ‘climb’ up in to the vehicle approximately two feet from the ground. The vehicles cannot accommodate wheelchair users. This vehicle may be shared or private depending on the experiences you have chosen. Animal’s availability? Due to unforeseeable animal health we cannot guarantee that all animals and exhibits will be available. What if the participant doesn’t want to do one of the specific tasks or becomes scared of the animals? No one will be forced to do anything they do not wish to. If you wish to take a step back at any point you are welcome to do so, although most find that taking part in the full range of activities is the best way to get the most from the Experience. Can we take photos and or Video footage? Yes, there are no restrictions with bringing cameras/video cameras to record your special day. There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the tour and your guide will advise you on the day. Is it dangerous? Working with any animal always carries a degree of risk. Participants will be fully briefed on what they should do in any situation and supervised at all times. Longleat will take necessary precautions and ask participants do to as they are instructed by our experienced keepers. The animals are habituated to human contact and do not normally display behaviors which pose a threat to visitors. However no animal is absolutely predictable and there is always a small amount of risk of unpredictable behavior. Do I get to touch the animals? Here at Longleat we respect all our animals. Certain animals do not enjoy being touched or petted as much as they enjoy the feeding. Touching the animals may startle them. Some of our experiences do involve handling our smaller creatures. Allergies and Disabilities Please state any disability or special requirements to enable us to try and adapt our encounters to suit. If we are late what do we do? If you are running late please call 01985 845100 or 844400. Please be aware that we are unable to wait more than ten minutes. What is your refunds and cancellation policy? Refunds will not be available for cancellations or late arrival unless exceptional circumstances. If your experience is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, how will we know? In the unlikely event of your experience being cancelled Longleat will give as much notice as possible if we have to cancel the tours. Longleat will notify you by phone with your mobile phone number provided when your tour was confirmed. Waiver of liability Longleat accepts no liability for any person or body for any loss, injury or property damage from any action or cause whatsoever undertaken at the park. Participants must abide by staff instructions at all times. What will we see on our tour, where will we go, and what animals will we see? The experiences are very unique so no experience will be the same. Your guide on the day will do his best to give you a tour to remember and hopefully memories to cherish.
