Created clean plate. Integrated 3D Statue with passes. Keyed and color corrected pigeon stock footage and integrated into shot. 3D and tracking provided. TURN (AMC) : New York 1770’s Software: Nuke, Maya, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing, 3D Modeling, Projection, Matte Painting Episodic Work for AMC’s revolutionary war drama, TURN. Managed shot from previs to final comp. Created base 3D models of buildings for layout in Maya. Basic textures and Geo was used for projection inside nuke. Created matte painting using 3D as a base before re-projecting. Other elements were comped in afterwards including ~30 various green screened groups, replacing non period roof tiles and smoke elements. TURN (AMC) : Day for Night Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing Episodic Work for AMC’s revolutionary war drama, TURN. Color corrected and masked various sections of day time plate to make it appear like a nighttime shot. This included a sky replacement, lights in windows and faking various camp fires within the shot. Dropship Landing Software: Nuke, Maya, Photoshop Began with stock plate of helicopters. Clean plated. 3D Model from Turbosquid. Redid Textures, 3D materials and render passes. Composited in Nuke with additional smoke and dust elements both practical and CG. Sabotage: Train Wreck Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing Feature film work on Sabotage (2014) at Look Effects. Provided 3D passes of added debris, for integration into plate. Sabotage: Train Wrek #2 Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing Feature film work on Sabotage (2014) at Look Effects. Provided 3D passes of added debris, for integration into plate. Sabotage: Phone Screen Replacement Software: Nuke, Mocha, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing, Tracking, Painting, Roto Feature film work on Sabotage (2014) at Look Effects. Tracked screen to replace photos. Animated swiping sequence and created various passes of reflection and dirt to integrate new screen. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty : Flyover Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing Feature film work on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) at Look Effects. 3D tracked shot to add matte painting onto 3D cards to allow parallax throughout shot. Matte painting provided in layers by matte painter. Final shot included retiming. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty : Hiking Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing/Matte Painting Feature film work on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) at Look Effects. Created clean plate by removing previous foot tracks. Created matte painting of mountain and added snow to plate rocks. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty : Snow Leopard Software: Nuke, Photoshop Responsibilities: Compositing/Matte Painting Feature film work on The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013) at Look Effects. Created matte painting of mountain and rocks from stock library elements. Roto of leopard provided by roto artist. Color corrected and integrated roto’d leopard. Created “lens” type effects for telephoto feel and camera HUD. Robot Trainer Software: Nuke, Photoshop, Maya Shot started from stock footage. “Roboter” Robot rig by Niklas Wennersten and Andreas Karlsson. Animation by Andrew Bangel. Materials created by myself, Rendered with Mental Ray. Stock clip rotation tracked, projected onto sphere to create clean plate projection. Environment was recreated for accurate lighting and reflections. Final composite re-projected to re-apply camera movement. Bunker Exploration Software: Nuke, After Effects, Silhouette, Photoshop, Maya Shot started with original green screen plate. Footage was tracked in Nuke. An environment was modeled in Maya, textured, rendered then re-projected with additional textures and elements to add realism while decreasing render time. Passes were combined in Nuke with the Green Screen footage. Screen Keyed with Primematte and additional roto with Silhouette. Final Filters for lens and color correction done in After Effects. Middle East War Scene Software: Nuke, After Effects, Silhouette, Photoshop, 3DS Max Shot started as a stock clip of a training exercise from Highlight Films. Tracked in Nuke to composite matte backdrop, replace sky and add other stock elements. Silhouette to roto-mask the running soldiers. 3DS Max was used to create 3D Helicopters. Model provided by TurboSquid, retextured by myself. Cloudscape Software: Nuke, Photoshop, Maya Shot created for music video “All Eyes on You”. Used various matte painted cloud elements and still 3D renders to build up vortex. Images were then warped to create spinning effect.
