Themes
EVER WONDER? What it's like to become a scientist,
astronaut, engineer or myth buster?! Campers
will explore everything science and mythical including mad
science experiments, testing common myths, building
towers, discovering space, and becoming a wizard, just like
Harry Potter!
Enjoy a week of being treated like a celebrity! Campers will
get the full royal treatment with a week of spas, concerts,
movies, runways, and talent shows! Attend a real life red
carpet movie premier! Learn a few guitar chords to start off
your career as a rock star!
Join us for a week of EXTREME ADVENTURES! Campers
will participate in a Fear Factor day, complete the Amazing
Race and become an Olympian for a day. This week
includes a trip to another local camp to participate in high
and low ropes courses, rock climbing, zip lining, and other
adventurous activities. (Additional $25 cost)
CALLING ALL EXPLORERS! We need your help to travel
back in time to the Medieval era, ancient Egypt, and the
70's to find lost and missing artifacts. Campers will have
the opportunity to experience history before cell phones
and Facebook.
Learning through the exploration of nature, campers will
experience what it's like to camp and survive in the wild.
This week includes wilderness hiking, geocaching, outdoor
safety, and neighbourhood clean-ups. Campers will travel
through all of our local wilderness areas. Don’t forget to
bring your marshmallows for a camp fire!
MOOOOOOOOOO! This whole week is about animals!
Campers will have the chance to interact with special
animal guests throughout the week plus local visits to
animal hotspots.
Prepare for a magical week of all things DISNEY! Join us
for a week of Disney throughout the years. Starting with
Disney ordinals including Cinderella, Pinocchio and Lion
King. We will be finishing off the week with a trip to the
Huron Country Playhouse to see Beauty and the Beast.
(Additional $35 cost)
Around the World in 5 days. Join us for an adventurous
week of world travel to popular destinations on the globe!
Campers will learn about new cultures, try new food and
participate in popular world-wide traditions.
LAST WEEK OF CAMP, ANYTHING GOES! Any activity,
theme, craft, you name it happens this week! Campers will
have a wide selection of activities to participate in! Last day
of camp kids will participate in a Passport to fun day!

Camp Drop Off & Pick-Up Location & Times
For consistency and safety Camp Drop Off is at the South entrance of the Davidson
Centre. Entrance is located to the left as you enter the parking lot from Durham Street.
A camp sign will be indicate the proper entrance.
All parents, guardians and caregivers are required to sign children in and out of camp.
Early Drop Off: 7:30 am – 9:00 am
Program Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Late Pick-Up: 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Please note: Drop Off & Pick Up locations are subject to change.
Notifications will be sent out prior to changes.
*Late Fee: $15/every 10 minutes after 5:00pm*

Summer Camp Cancellation Policy
There is a 10% non-refundable deposit per camper per camp week required for all registrations. All
balances must be paid in full at registration or postdated cheques must be submitted with your
registration.
To cancel camp registrations, notification in writing must be received no later than 7 days prior to the
start of your camp week in order to receive a refund (less the non-refundable 10% deposit). Switching
weeks must be completed at least one week prior to session start date. Cancellations may be sent to
[email protected].
Cancellations due to medical reasons must be accompanied by a doctor’s note at the time of the
request and will receive a full refund.
Please note: For registrations processed by cash, debit or cheque please allow 4-6 weeks for a
refund by cheque.
Waitlists
Waitlists work! Camp and administrative staff review waitlists on a daily basis. Staff work hard to
accommodate as many participants as possible. Please use the waitlist system, when spots are
available parents will be contacted.
Quality Supervision
Staff to participant ratios reflect our commitment to quality program supervision. All Municipality of
Kincardine camps follow the Park & Recreation Ontario HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child
Development. Staff are required to be First Aid certified and provide a criminal reference check upon
employment.

Sign In/Out & Attendance
Attendance is taken upon arrival to camp. Staff ensure attendance is taken throughout the duration of
camp. Attendance is taken before camp is taken offsite, and before returning to camp.
Campers must be signed in and out of camp each day. All approved guardians must provide a piece
of ID upon pick-up. Campers may leave camp on their own, when a parent consent form is filled out.
(Only for campers 9+)

Swimming
Campers will have the opportunity to swim in the Davidson Centre Pool, 3 days a week. Swim
supervision will be provided by lifeguards and camp staff. Only participants who pass the swim test
(one length of the pool) will be permitted to use the slides.
Illness, Allergies & Medications
Please ensure the Participant Information form is complete to ensure the most accurate and up to
date information about medications, medical conditions, allergies, etc. Please list all emergency
contacts who can be reached between camp hours. (7:00am-5:00pm).
Photograph Release & Consent
Please fill out the Photo Release form.
All pictures taken throughout camp are used for promotional and marketing materials for the
Municipality of Kincardine recreation programs.
WHAT TO BRING:
Lunch & Snacks
The Municipality of Kincardine does not provide lunch or snacks for participants. Please send your
child with nut-free lunch and snacks, as well as a reusable water bottle. As part of camp, food crafts
and activities may take place. Please indicate any allergies your child may have on the Participant
Information Form.
Clothing
Please send your child to camp with appropriate clothing for camp. Including: hats, closed toe
footwear, bathing suit and towel, sunscreen, and any special items requested by camp staff.
Inclusion Services
If your child requires assistance please fully complete the Participant Information form. Trained
Volunteer Buddies can be arranged for participants who may require accommodations throughout
camp. The Special Needs Coordinator will conduct meetings with families to ensure the best buddy is
paired with camper. If you have any other questions regarding accommodations or exceptionalities
please call 519-396-3491.
Offsite Trips/Excursion & Special Guests
Offsite trips are scheduled for Week 3 & 7. Campers will be attending Camp Kintail for multiple
outdoor activities including high and low ropes and camp fire making as well as the Huron Country
Playhouse for Drayton entertainments “Beauty & the Beast”. Community excursions and special
guests may be planned weekly. Please ensure all participants are at camp on time for scheduled trips
and excursions. Please note: all trips and special guests are subject to change.

Please fill out the Offsite Permission form. If form is not complete participants will not be permitted to
leave the Davidson Centre.
Offsite Trip Cancellations
Municipality of Kincardine Summer Camps has the right to cancel trips due to inclement weather or
extenuating circumstances. Trips will be cancelled by 7:30 am on the scheduled trip day. Refunds will
be issued in the event a trip is cancelled.
Camp Plans
Weekly emails will be sent out on the Thursday prior to the next week of camp. These emails will
include the next week’s daily scheduled events and any additional items campers may need. Please
make sure you provide the Front Office with the correct email upon registration.
