The Nation’s Favourite SpongeBob SquarePants Episode is Revealed this Jubilee Weekend
London, 17th May, 2012 – This Jubilee Weekend sees Nickelodeon UK celebrate the nation’s
favourite yellow sponge “who lives in a pineapple under the sea,” as the channel reveals the Top 100
SpongeBob SquarePants episodes. The countdown begins on-air from Monday 4th – Friday 8th June
between noon and 5pm, with the winning episode revealed to fans on Friday 8th June at 4.45pm.
"I'd like to personally thank everyone for voting. Put aside other plans you might have made for the
Diamond Jubilee and stay glued to your telly watching the top 100 SpongeBob episodes,” said Paul
Tibbitt, Executive Producer, SpongeBob SquarePants. "I'm sure Her Majesty's favourite episode is
somewhere on the chart."
Over 160,000 votes were cast online at nick.co.uk , as the nation declared their support for their
favourite episode. Viewers were asked to choose their all time favourite SpongeBob SquarePants
episode by voting through a unique SpongeBob search engine, designed exclusively for the
marathon royal event. Celebrities including Pixie Lott and the cast of VicTORious will appear as part
of the Top 100 to introduce their favourite SpongeBob tale.
