Premier and Dilworth are adjoining properties that cover
more than 100 square kilometres. The Premier includes the
old Premier Mine, a past producer of 2.1 million ounces of
gold and 44.9 million ounces of silver. The properties are
located near several high-grade gold producing mines.
Ascot optioned the properties in 2007 and will make the
final payment by June 30, 2017, for a 100 percent interest
in the properties, subject to net smelter royalties.
All-in drill costs are estimated to be less than Cdn$100/
meter, approximately one-third of the industry average. Low
costs are due mainly to the existing property infrastructure
and roads, lower elevations and proximity to the town of
Stewart.
Ascot now has seven diamond drill rigs on Premier/Dilworth
and strong results have been returned in all areas. Based
on past drilling, the company is confident of the deposit’s
location and has a $20 million exploration program planned
for 2017.

The Golden Triangle
In the 1800s the area now
known as the Golden Triangle
was a hub for prospectors looking to strike it rich. The first big
discovery was at the Premier
Gold Mine, which started operations in 1918.
New infrastructure has made
the area more accessible and
has helped to reduce costs. This
includes: a recently completed
transmission line which will
dramatically reduce the cost of
power; the opening of ocean
port facilities for export of
concentrate in Stewart; and the
completion of a hydroelectric
facility located 70km northwest
of Stewart.
