Dear Mrs Sample <Existing Players - E>,
How you can help disabled people like Josh
The book of raffle tickets I’ve enclosed can do amazing things.
On the one hand, buying these tickets will mean you’re in with a chance of winning a cash prize of
£7,000. But on the other hand, you will be helping Motability raise much needed funds for charitable
grants – making it possible for disabled children like Josh to live their lives to the full.
With the help of Motability, Josh can now do all the things that he loves doing.
Four-year-old Josh was born with an underdeveloped spine, which means he has to spend most of
his time in a wheelchair. Before getting their car with the help of a charitable grant from Motability,
Josh’s parents, Victoria and Peter, had to use a minibus to get Josh out and about with his
wheelchair and other equipment. But it was expensive and they had to think twice about every trip.
And there’s an awful lot to keep this little boy busy! Josh goes to a music playgroup and his love of
animals means that trips to the local animal parks and museum are special days out for him, with
his mum and dad and grandparents.

Like all children, Josh has many ambitions.
“I want to be a Kung Fu expert like Kung Fu Panda, I want to go to
Madagascar to meet all the animals that live there – and I want to marry my
mum and dad. My mum tells me me that I’m her whole world and loves me
so much and my dad says I’m his best buddy. He is so good at fixing things
and is at home now all the time looking after me.”
His favourite place of all is his local museum, where he just loves to
see the dinosaur exhibits.
“I love animals and I love to learn all about them” says Josh. “I also know
the names of all the animals, what they like to eat, where they live and how
they survive. There are a lot of animals in the museum, some big, some
small but I love them all! I just love to learn, I ask my mummy and daddy
lots and lots of questions every day!”
Dreams like that are what make children so special. And there are so many
disabled children in the UK who have dreams to get out and about more – to
feed their passion for knowledge, or just to do the things they love.
You can help make dreams come true!
It’s just amazing what a difference Motability raffles can make to the lives of
disabled people like Josh. That’s why I’m asking you to take part in our
Autumn Raffle, which will do so much in helping us provide more charitable
grants for vehicles for disabled people.
By playing the Motability Autumn Raffle you’ll also have the chance to make
some of your dreams come true. Just think what you could do with that 1st
prize of £7,000? Or £4,000 … or £2,000? There are other prizes of £500 and
£250 too, plus 60 runner up prizes of £50, so that’s 65 chances of winning
with every ticket you buy!
So please buy as many £1 tickets as you can afford.
I’ve also enclosed some personalised address labels for you to use and to
save you from having to write on each of the ticket stubs.
Thank you and good luck,
PS The deadline for your entries is 8 November 2012. It would
really help us here at Motability if you returned your tickets, as
soon as possible. And now you can also go online to enter at
www.raffleentry.org.uk/motability

Motability helped Josh’s parents with the advance payment for a
Renault Grand Scenic with a charitable grant – provided from funds
raised by our raffles. This is very roomy and can comfortably carry Josh
and his family and is large enough for Josh’s wheelchair. Before getting
their Motability vehicle, Josh’s mum and dad had to think twice about
trips out as the minibus they used was very expensive. But now, Josh
and his parents are free to go out whenever they want, to Josh’s music
classes, to the aquarium, zoo and safari park all of which Josh loves. But
of course, their local museum is Josh’s special treat – where the staff all
know him and take the time to show him fossils, shells and his most
favourite animals of all – the dinosaurs! Now Josh is starting nursery,
their Motability vehicle will have even more work to do!
Please buy some tickets today and you will not
only be helping someone like Josh, but also giving
yourself a chance to win our star prize of
£7,000! Each year the money raised
from Motability raffles enables
people with disabilities to enjoy
the freedom of mobility by
helping to meet the cost of
suitable vehicles and special
adaptations and providing
driving lessons for disabled
people aged 16-24.
