It’s been a while since a van has been the recipient of as
much love and the source of as much pride. Then again,
with its sleek, ultra-modern styling, loads of high-tech
goodness and a sporty feel usually absent in this category,
perhaps this level of feeling is something entirely new.

things you have going on, no other
is more in synch with your life.
The soul of the Odyssey is its ability to go with the flow. Its incredible versatility
means it’s down for just about any adventure. The 2008 Odyssey is even more
in tune with your times, thanks to its refined exterior styling and
more standard features inside. And once again, the Odyssey is

With so many entertainment options,
peace, love
and harmony
moments of
are a whole lot easier to achieve.
The miles pass by more quickly when you give passengers something to
do with their time. The Honda DVD Entertainment System – available on EX-L
and standard on Touring – lets rear passengers enjoy a movie or even a
video game by connecting their game system to the vehicle’s rear audio/
video inputs. When DVD-equipped, a 115-volt outlet in the 3rd row lets
you plug in your video-game console, laptop or other electronics.
Standard on the LX is a 120-watt AM/FM/CD
system. The EX model adds 2 additional
speakers and a 6-disc in-dash CD changer.
Odyssey Touring models feature a 360-watt
premium audio system with 7 speakers,
including a subwoofer.
EX-L and Touring models come with XM R
Satellite Radio,3 giving you over 170 digitalquality channels to choose from.
All Odyssey audio systems offer an auxiliary
input jack and are MP3- and Windows
MediaR Audio4 (WMA)-compatible.
With a faceplate that doubles as a pop-out remote control,
rear passengers can play a movie or enjoy other
entertainment options without disturbing the driver.
The new BluetoothR 5 HandsFreeLinkR wireless phone technology on
Touring models lets you make and receive calls with your compatible
cell phone while your hands stay on the wheel.
Power features include both side doors
and 8-way driver’s seat on EX and above.
EX-L adds a 4-way passenger seat, while
Touring includes new memory-linked
side mirrors with reverse-gear tilt down.
The conversation mirror in most
models gives the driver and front
passenger a view of the entire
cabin. It also doubles as a flip-down
sunglasses holder.
The Odyssey’s large power moonroof on EX-L and
Touring models features a tilt function as well as
an air diffuser to let air circulate inside the cabin
without causing too much turbulence.
With the touch of a button, the navigation
system’s 8-inch touch screen flips down to
give you access to the audio system’s 6‑disc
in-dash CD changer.
The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation SystemT 6 with Voice
Recognition (available on EX-L, standard on Touring) links
to 7 million points of interest * and Zagat Survey R ratings.7
The Odyssey’s tri-zone automatic climate control
system, standard on EX and above, lets driver, front
passenger and rear passengers select their very
own comfort zones.
*Some roads unverified. See the navigation system owner’s manual for more details on coverage.
Touring models feature a remote power
tailgate to give you even easier access
to the Odyssey’s cavernous interior.
With the 2nd-row seats removed and the
3rd-row Magic Seat R folded into the
floor, the Odyssey offers up 147 cubic
feet of flat-floor cargo area.*
Ingenious storage options abound,
giving you plenty of places to stash your
goods. These include in-floor storage, a
unique dual glove compartment and up
to 15 beverage holders. The 2nd row’s
PlusOne Seat,T on EX and above, flips up
for additional under-seat storage.
The deep well behind the 60/40
split-folding 3rd row gives you
plenty of cargo space, even when
you’re loaded up with passengers.
*Honda reminds you to properly secure items stored in the cargo area.
Odyssey EX-L shown in Ivory Leather with available Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System.
It can be truly mind-blowing how many interior configurations the
Odyssey is capable of. Passengers, cargo, or any combination of
the two are easily accommodated in this highly versatile vehicle.
Most models have seating for eight, thanks to a removable 2nd-row
PlusOne Seat. The two deeply padded, full-size 2nd-row captain’s
chairs can push together, pull apart and slide forward for easy
3rd-row access. The 60/40 split 3rd-row Magic Seat folds flat in one
easy motion – without having the head restraints removed. In
addition, the Odyssey’s thoughtful design gives you plenty of
legroom and elbow room (even in the 3rd row), easy child-seat
access and a low step-in height.
It’s got the moves to help you
get on down
the road.
Take a few curves and you might forget that you’re driving a vehicle that can seat up to eight.
With its rack-and-pinion steering, independent suspension, including double wishbones in back,
and powerful 4‑wheel disc brakes, you’ll be the envy of the carpool lane. And its sophisticated
Drive-by-Wire T throttle system and 5‑speed automatic transmission help make sure the
Odyssey’s considerable power is always flowing smoothly.
Odyssey EX-L shown in Dark Cherry Pearl.
Honda has always believed in giving
power to
the people.
In the case of the Odyssey, it comes in the form of two engines, each of which
delivers plenty of muscle while also giving you great fuel economy 8 and low
emissions. In the LX and EX, it’s a 3.5‑liter V‑6 capable of generating 244 hp. The
EX-L and Touring models add a Variable Cylinder Management T (VCMR ) system
that sends mpg numbers into family sedan territory.
Odyssey EX-L shown in Ocean Mist Metallic.
3
4
During steady cruising, the Odyssey’s
V-6 shuts down the entire rear bank of
cylinders. An Active Noise CancellationT
(ANC) system helps control engine noise.
When cruising speeds climb, the engine
moves from 3-cylinder to 4-cylinder mode.
The transitions between all modes are
seamless and go unnoticed by the driver.
The 2008 Odyssey EX-L and Touring models feature the latest-generation
Variable Cylinder Management technology. Powered by the intelligence of
i‑VTEC,R VCM quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates certain engine
cylinders, depending on the driver’s demands. The result is great fuel
economy,8 power when you need it, including a 3,500-lb. towing capacity,9
and an Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) rating.
When maximum torque is required – such
as when you’re merging onto a freeway
or climbing a hill – all 6 cylinders are firing
to deliver the engine’s full power.

being an option
the few,
we made it standard for
Safety for Everyone is more than a slogan, it’s one of our core beliefs. It has led us to become an industry
leader in developing and applying advanced safety technology. The Odyssey is a rolling showcase of
this philosophy with standard safety features such as anti-lock braking (ABS), Vehicle Stability Assist T
(VSAR) with traction control, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), active front head restraints,
which are designed to lessen the potential for neck injuries during rear-end collisions, and Lower
Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) system. The Odyssey has also received 5-star ratings from
the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for both frontal- and side-impact crash tests.*
*G overnment star ratings are part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA’s) New Car Assessment Program
(www.safercar.gov). Model tested with standard side-impact airbags (SABs).
The Michelin PAX System,2 available on the Odyssey
Touring, lets you drive on a deflated tire up to 125
miles at speeds up to 50 mph. Its specially designed
larger wheel even
enhances handling
during everyday use.
6
airbags
The Odyssey’s impressive line of defense includes dual-stage, dual-threshold front
airbags that can vary their deployment based on accident severity and seat-belt
usage, front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System
(OPDS), and 3‑row side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor.*
Front airbags inflate and deflate in a fraction of a second.
*Honda reminds you and your passengers to always buckle up. Children 12 and under are
safest when properly restrained in the rear seat.
Oversteer
On models equipped with navigation, the screen doubles as a full-color
rearview camera display, giving you a clear view of the area directly
behind the vehicle when you shift into reverse. New for 2008, EX-L
models without navigation show the image on a camera display
located in the rearview mirror.
The Odyssey’s Advanced Compatibility
EngineeringT (ACE T ) body structure makes
it more crash-compatible in frontal impacts
with vehicles of differing bumper heights.
Understeer
VSA
Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) can help
detect oversteer or understeer, to
help restore the driver’s intended path.
Looking beyond government regulations,
Honda studies real-world situations
to develop new safety technology. Our
cutting-edge engineering and testing
facilities in Japan and America help us
develop the next generation of safety
features – all focused on evolving our
Safety for Everyone concept.
Honda’s legacy of environmental leadership
includes world-changing advances in fuel
economy and low-emission and hybrid
technology. Our latest contributions include
the natural gas-powered Civic GX, the world’s
cleanest internal-combustion vehicle,10 and
the next-generation FCX hydrogen fuel cell
car, which is set for production in 2008.
Honda’s formidable ability to invent
the future can be experienced on the
land, in the water and, now, above
the clouds. Our HondaJetT is an ideal
showcase for our core approach to
design, maximizing performance as
well as comfort while minimizing the
surrounding machine.
Honda began racing motorcycles in
the 1950s, and then cars in the ’60s.
In addition to the obvious motivation
of first-place trophies, we race to
learn, taking innovative technology
developed for the track and applying
it to everyday use.
Honda
DNA.
As integral to every Honda as the materials used
to build it are the ideas and values that inspired
it. As an automotive leader in clean technology,
our commitment to being environmentally
responsible is second to none. Equally important
is our desire to help keep drivers and passengers
safe. This is evident from the impressive list
of safety features that comes standard on every
vehicle. Of course, take one drive in the Odyssey
and you’ll become intimately aware of a third
value. Since day one, it’s been a Honda mandate
that every vehicle has to be fun to drive.
