Club Member Information Sheet
Welcome to Canning City Soccer Club
Thank you for being part of Canning City Soccer Club’s 2016 season. Your Club is a notfor-profit organisation, run solely by unpaid volunteers who are passionate about the club
and its players. Without this the club would not exist. As Club members, players and
families agree and commit their valuable spare time freely, to assist in ensuring that
players can participate in weekly training sessions, Club events and Sunday competitions.
As members you commit to support the Club as follows;




Agree to be bound by Football West’s constitution, rules and by-laws.
Abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct.
http://canningcitysoccer.org.au/general-information/code-of-conduct/
Nominate for the many volunteer roles required to run the Club.
Acknowledge and remember our players are kids, this is a game, our coaches are
volunteers, the referees are human and this is not the FIFA World Cup.
Volunteering is integral to the Club’s success and its ongoing future. There are a number of
roles for you to assist. These include;
 Age Group Coordinators / Team Managers / Coaches / Referees
 Canteen / Equipment / Line Marking
 Committee
*Assistance is needed for website, treasurer, secretary and canteen. Can you help?
How we run our Club
Canning City Soccer Club operates primarily by email so you won’t find mobile numbers
listed on our website. This allows our many volunteers to earn a living during the day and
support the Club in their spare time, which requires your appreciation.
Like all Clubs there is a committee, supported by volunteer age group coordinators who
liaise with their team managers, who in turn support the coaches and family with Club
communications, fixtures and rosters. An active email account is required by all. All
players under 18 must register their parents email address.
The Club relies on its age group/team manager structure. Without a team manager and
importantly a coach, the Club will not establish a team. Nominations for these positions
must be filled at the Club induction day for registrations to be accepted into teams. Please
support your child to play and be involved. The role’s responsibilities are available on the
Club’s website and you will have the support of the Club and families.
Player and family contact details (mobile phone numbers) are later made available to the
teams so they may work together for training and game days, plus other volunteer needs.

Registrations
All players are required to self register using their FFA number (application for and
reminders are part of the process) using the www.myfootballclub.com.au website.
Instructions are available on the Club’s website. Payment for registration must be done
online. If you do not have a credit card please arrange for a friend or family member to
assist you.
Please bear in mind this club is run by volunteers who put in hours of work to facilitate
you or your children to play football. Self registration helps reduce this workload, done in
completion up to and including payment. If you do not pay online, your registration will
not be activated and you could miss out on a place in a team.
When you have registered and paid online, the player status will remain "Pending
Awaiting Approval". When there is a volunteer coach and team manager, players may
then be allocated to a team and your player status will change to "Active".
Team Allocations
The Club’s approach to accepting player registrations is to prefer members that actively
participate in volunteer roles when allocating places in teams. Each year, places in the Club
are oversubscribed and preference is now given based on participation at the Committee’s
discretion. The number of teams and therefore places available depends on volunteer
coaches and team managers. If you’re interested in being a coach, the Club will provide
training by qualified coaches and has manuals available at no cost.
Canning City rooballers (6-11s) and juniors (12-18s) play at some of the best training and
playing facilities in the metro area at Willetton Reserve on Apsley Road. Please keep our
grounds in the best condition possible, by removing litter and reporting to the Club’s
grounds marshals anything of concern. Your attention to the following is required;
 NO DROP AND GO! – (under 6-11’s) You may not leave your children unattended.
Child minding is not the coach’s role. Their care is your responsibility. We all have
busy lives and you must arrange with other families if you need to leave the grounds
for any reason.
 Families must set up and pack away goal posts, nets and flags.
*This is not the coaches or refs role.
 Please arrive no later than 30minutes before the start of the match.
Need financial assistance with registration fees?
KidSport will assist eligible families to receive up to $200 annually for each of their
children aged between 5 - 18 years, to subsidise fees to join a sport and recreation club.
Club practice requires payment upon registration, issuing a refund upon receipt of an
approved Kidsport voucher.
Eligible families include those with health care cards or pension concession card, or those
referred by other community groups. To find out more about KidSport and/or to get a

'KidSport Application Form', contact your local city council or the Department of Sport
and Recreation on 9492 9700. Only approved KidSport vouchers can be accepted.
Photo Requirements
All players playing in competitions require a photograph to be uploaded to complete their
registration. You can upload a new photo using the www.myfootballclub.com.au web site.
The guidelines are as follows:


A clear head photo of the player - see examples below (the one at the bottom right is
preferred)
Should be relatively recent (within 3 years for Under 18 or 5-10 years for Over 18)
Your permission for photos and training videos is implied unless otherwise expressed
Cancellation/Withdrawal/Refunds
If you have registered, then changed your mind, please email the Club registrar at
[email protected] to request a refund and that your registration be "declined".
Kindly note a $10 fee applies per cancellation of each registration to cover costs and that
unless the player is transferring to another club, the FFA/FW component of the fee will not
be refunded. Please refer to
Team Allocation
All age group coordinators do their best to accommodate all registered players, however as
team numbers are limited and some teams are competitive your child may miss out on a
place even when fully registered. As a club we try to accommodate all players and
appreciate your patience and understanding on this difficult task. Preferences to play with
friends can usually be accommodated in the Rooball ages and grading of players occurs
only in the Junior side. If your child can't be placed in a team, a full refund will be issued.
CCSC Aspire Program
The Club’s Aspire program initiative is designed with an intention to;
 Bring the junior and Senior sectors of the club together,
 Provide quality mentoring for the junior players,
 Promote club spirit, values and loyalty to enhance the culture of the club
Ball boy squads from the Under 9’s through to the Under 13’s age groups are rostered to
attend the Club’s State League’s Saturday’s home games and play a half time match. The
State League players adopt a junior side team at the start of the season and take the team
for a training session, providing mentorship and advice to the junior player’s development.
