Linda Kinski Memorial Golf Tournament
To benefit the Jimmy Fund/Cancer Research
My mother passed away on May 17, 2006 after a very short battle with cancer. This
horrible disease has most likely touched everyone who is reading this. We must do
whatever we can to try and stop cancer from taking our loved ones from us. Here is our
story.
In early February 2006 my mother started to experience headaches. She was never
really sick a day in her life, so she took some advil and hoped they would go away. They
only got worse and worse. We went to Cape Cod Hospital and then to Beth Israel. They
couldn’t find anything. The headaches got worse. Back to Boston, nothing found. Finally, we
entered Cape Cod Hospital and told them she was not leaving until they found out what was
causing the headaches.
After three months of the worst headaches one can imagine, the fifteen or so doctors
finally diagnosed my mother with a rare form of cancer called Signet Lymphoma. She had
lost her ability to talk and could barely hear us. The cancer spread so fast that it was a mere
12 days after diagnosis that the cancer had taken her from us-12 days!
Our family is thankful that we were able to talk to her, cry with her, laugh with her,
hug her and share that last embrace. We are lucky to have been able to do those things.
We need to help find a cure so other families do not lose a loved one to this devastating
disease.
The Kinski family is hosting its first Linda Kinski Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit
cancer research through the Jimmy Fund. Ironically, the date the golf course had available
was May 17. The tournament will be held at New Seabury Country Club with a 12 noon
shotgun start.
This email is going out to 1,100 people. Think about this:
If everyone that receives this email donates $1, we would raise $1,100.
If everyone that receives this email donates $5, we would raise $5,500.
If everyone that receives this email donates $10, we would raise $11,000.
We would love to have as many golfers out at New Seabury as possible, but if you
can’t make it on May 17, please consider making a donation. Teaching kids, I don’t want
any of them to lose a parent due to this awful disease. Please donate. Checks can be made
