Passes to The Robert Bateman Centre Now Available at Greater Victoria Public Library
Victoria, BC – Experience the magic of nature with your library card. Greater Victoria Public Library cardholders can
now use their library card to borrow passes to visit The Robert Bateman Centre. The passes provide free admission
for two adults and up to four youth to the Robert Bateman Centre at 470 Belleville Street in the Steamship Terminal
along the Inner Harbour. Passes can be taken out for a one-week loan with no renewals.
Visitors to The Robert Bateman Centre can explore eight galleries, which feature more than 100 works by Robert
Bateman. Thanks to the technology within the galleries, visitors may use handheld tablets or their mobile phones to
scan QR codes below each painting to view details or short videos about the more than seven decades of Bateman’s
work.
“We are delighted to add The Robert Bateman Centre to our collection of passes to local cultural institutions and
recreation centres,” says Alyssa Polinsky, Director, Communications & Community Development at the Library.
“These passes inspire the joy of discovery through the Centre’s exhibits and programming.” Similar GVPL pass
programs already available for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, the Royal BC Museum and Saanich Recreation have
proven very popular.
“Robert Bateman dreams that everyone will know the magic of nature, especially children, and so we are thrilled to
partner with GVPL to make this treasured collection available at no cost to families in the region,” says Aimee
Ippersiel, Managing Director of The Robert Bateman Centre.
