Subject: REACH UPDATE
According to the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) Guidance for Monomers and
Polymers dated May 2008, and our ongoing study of REACH policy as regards SYFAN
shrink film products, we hereby confirm the following:
1. SYFAN shrink films are considered “articles” by REACH definition.
2. All of these articles are manufactured in Israel and the USA.
3. The articles are manufactured mainly from polymers which are exempt from
registration and evaluation.
4. Articles may contain small concentrations of additives, including in some cases
additives which contain small concentrations of “substances intended to be released”
which must be registered (Art.7).
5. None of the 163 substances of very high concern (SVHC, as set out in ECHA
Candidate List update of 15 June 2015) are used in the manufacture of our shrink
films.
6. We have been in contact with the manufacturers of additives supplied to Syfan and
can confirm that these manufacturers have registered substances used in preparation of
these materials, where required.
