ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR (Full-Time Summer Student Position) $12.00 per hour X 35 hour per week May 2016 – September 2016 (16 Weeks) Mission Statement NUTV explores media arts through learning, creativity and fun, capturing stories for the campus community. Killer Content: NUTV's programming captures the hearts, minds and imaginations of the students of the UofC; The Engagement Coordinator will work to ensure NUTV is creating content and programming that is of interest to the University of Calgary community. They will work to forge new relationships on and off campus that benefits students through engaging content or prizes and access to things they otherwise might not. This position is ideal for a postsecondary communications student or a related field. The job is an excellent opportunity to learn hands on communications strategies and social media techniques. Skills developed on the job will include graphic design, social media marketing and writing and presentation skills. The goal of the Engagement Coordinator is to create new opportunities for collaboration and student involvement in NUTV. Tasks and Responsibilities: Run on-campus events and initiatives with the goal of increasing NUTV’s campus presence Develop a clear action plan for NUTV’s social media platforms Set up and man information booths at campus events (Orientation week) Planning activities for members to increase and retain membership engagement Seek target audiences based on opportunities provided by NUTV in person Build NUTV’s emailing list and managing the content of emails/newsletters sent out Work closely with the Communications Coordinator to run social media campaigns and contests for our Studio 315 Live Show Create meaningful interaction on social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube) Seek potential donors and sponsors for prizes/giveaways in the greater Calgary community – building sustainable relationships with local and domestic organizations Attend all NUTV meetings and events Other tasks and administrative work as assigned Required Skills and Experience: Some coursework in communications, marketing, public relations Strong written and oral communications abilities Proficient with optimizing social media platform reach Experience working on a team and as a leader Knowledge in outreach and community building is an asset NUTV encourages applications from members of visible minority groups, persons with disabilities and Aboriginal/First Nations peoples.
