THE HOTUSA GROUP WILL MANAGE THE ICONIC HOTEL DE LA
RECONQUISTA UNDER THE EUROSTARS BRAND
The allocation has been signed today by the Chairman of the HOASA Board of Directors, Julio
González Zapico, and the Chairman of the Hotusa Group, Amancio López
Barcelona, 11 August 2014.- The Hotusa Group today adds to its hotel management portfolio
Oviedo's Hotel de la Reconquista, which will be operated under the Eurostars Hotels brand. A
week after the committee of the public enterprise Hostelería Asturiana (Hoasa) proposed the
award of the leasing contract to the Board of Directors for this iconic establishment to Hoteles
Turísticos Unidos, today (Monday), the official signing took place of the agreement between
the Chairman of the HOASA Board of Directors, Julio González Zapico, Julio González Zapico,
and the Chairman of the Hotusa Group, Amancio López.
Thus, according to the recently signed agreement, for the next thirty years the chain will
operate this symbolic establishment that will be marketed under the name Eurostars Hotel de
La Reconquista. Once this concession is formalised, the Chairman of the Hotusa Group,
Amancio López expressed “immense pride we have in having the opportunity to manage such
a representative hotel with a strong historical and cultural background so great that it even
transcends the borders of our country”. Likewise, López added that “we take on this challenge
with enormous responsibility and I can ensure you that we will redouble our efforts to respond
to the trust placed in us and to the care that this project requires”.
The Eurostars Hotel de La Reconquista enjoys a privileged location just a few minutes from
Oviedo's historic centre and its main shopping streets (Uría, Gil de Jaz, Independencia, Doctor
Casal, Covadonga), as well as its most emblematic tourist attractions such as the Campoamor
Theatre, the Palacio de Congresos or the Prince Felipe Auditorium. Its facilities feature 142
rooms, all of them outward-facing and endowed with the latest technological innovations and
maximum comfort.
The establishment, housed in an impressive 17th century baroque building and declared a
National Monument, offers a wide culinary offering to the warmth of its two impressive
courtyards (Breakfast Buffet, Rey Casto Café and Gastrobar) based on traditional Asturian
recipes with a nod to international cuisine. Also, its 15 meeting rooms with a 550-person
capacity make it an ideal destination for business meetings and for holding all kinds of event.
Two hairdressers, a massage service, a shopping arcade and a car park complete the range of
services provided by the hotel.
