What does an Abcam Scientific Support Specialist do?
The Abcam Scientific Support Team is part of Abcam’s Commercial Operation Team and is responsible for
providing daily technical support to our German and English customers via email and phone.
As part of our Scientific Support team our Scientific Support Specialists are responsible for providing daily
technical support to our German and English speaking customers via email and on the phone. You will also be
involved in liaising with production labs about the products, updating product datasheets and reviewing
customer data and will also work closely with our Customer Service and Commercial sales teams. In addition to
this, you will have the opportunity to work on departmental and inter-departmental projects, sharing your
expertise with your team and the rest of the organisation.
About You
This role would suit someone who is a good team player, who is resourceful and can manage their own time and
responsibilities. You will be someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to listen well, deliver
quality scientific support and understand our customers’ needs.
While the role does involve routine aspects, each enquiry you deal with will be different. In a fast-paced working
environment there will be times when you will need to think on your feet and make decisions quickly, but
overall we’d value a methodical approach, paying attention to detail.
You will be fluent in both German and English
You will need to have a successfully completed training as technical assistant, BSc or above in a life
sciences field with additional research laboratory experience using antibodies and related reagents
You will need experience in at least two antibody related applications including western blot or
immunohistochemistry
Previous experience working with customers and/or training students in the laboratory would be desirable
