Community Games Report 2015

16 Individual Gold Community Games Medals for Munster
The National Community Games Athletic Finals were held in AIT, Athlone on Saturday 22nd & Sunday
23rd August 2015. Munster athletes competed very well winning 64 medals in total (16 gold, 13
silver, 15 bronze & 20 Pewter) 1st place in the Boys U/16 7km Marathon team competition (Clare) &
16 sets of Relay medals (7 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze & 3 pewter).
Laura Falvey, Kerry won bronze in the Girls U/8 60m with bronze for Ava Marie Flavin, Waterford in
the Girls “B” competition. In the Boys U/8 60m “B” competition, there was silver for Gavin Dillon,
Kerry. Saoirse Dillon, Kerry won gold in the Girls U/8 80m while in the Girls U/8 80m “B”
competition, there was gold for Amy Healy, Tipperary & bronze for Lucy Royayne, Waterford.
Patrick Cagney, Limerick took silver in the Boys U/8 80m with Oran Gahan, Tipperary winning gold
in the “B” competition.
In the Boys U/10 60mH, there was a joint 4th place finish for Brian O’Rourke, Tipperary/Roscrea A.C.
& Josh Boland, Limerick with silver for Leagh Moloney, Limerick & 4th place for Sophie Dalybozhyk,
Tipperary in the Girls U/10 competition. Aaron Malik, Kerry/St. Brendan’s A.C. won a pewter medal
for 4th in the Boys U/14 80mH.
Samuel Olaoye, Clare/Ennis Track A.C. took gold in the Boys U/10 100m with 4th place for Denis
Matthews, Limerick. Roisin Rahilly, Kerry won silver in the Girls U/10 100m with 4th place for Angel
Alfred, Limerick/Dooneen A.C. In the Girls U/12 100m, Caoimhe Power, Tipperary/Carrick-On-Suir
A.C. won gold with silver for Sally Dickson, Limerick & bronze for Damilola Adesina, Clare/Marian
A.C. In the Girls U/14 100m, there was silver for Niamh Foley, Limerick/St. Mary’s A.C. with bronze
for Roseann Fitzgerald, Tipperary/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. Smith Omojoefodun, Limerick was 4th in the
Boys U/14 100m.
Tony Odubote, Clare/Ennis Track A.C. & Ciara Neville, Limerick/Emerald A.C. both took gold in the
Boys & Girls U/16 100m with a 4th place finish for Miriam Daly, Tipperary/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. David
Ryan, Tipperary/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. won gold in the Boys U/16 200m with a 4th place finish
for Sean McCarthy, Limerick/Emerald A.C. In the Girls U/16 200m, there was silver for Rachel
Moriarty, Kerry/Listowel A.C. with bronze for Niamh Moriarty, Limerick/Dooneen A.C.
In the Middle Distance events, Nathan Cremin, Limerick/St. Mary’s A.C. won gold in the Boys U/12
600m with silver for Diarmuid Fahy, Clare. Cathal McKeogh, Clare won bronze in the Boys U/14
800m with gold for Ailbhe Doherty, Clare/Ennis Track A.C. in the Girls U/14 800m. Roisin Ambrose,
Limerick won a pewter medal for 4th in the Girls U/16 1500m. In the U/16 7km Marathon, Clare won
the Boys team competition with an individual silver for Donal Devane, Clare/Ennis Track A.C. & a 4th
place finish for Emma Doyle, Limerick in the Girls competition.
In the Field Events, Munster athletes scored strongly with Katelyn Reid, Kerry/An Riocht A.C.
winning the Girls U/12 Ball Throw, Amy Whelan, Cork/Liscarroll A.C. in 3rd & Naoimi
O’Shaughnessy, Clare in 4th place. Patrick O’Neill, Limerick also placed 4th in the Boys competition.
In the Boys Discus, there was silver for Sean Mockler, Tipperary/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. & 4th
place for Darragh Miniter, Clare/St. Marys A.C. Lauren O’Grady, Kerry won bronze in the Girls U/16
Discus.
In the Girls U/16 High Jump, there was a win for Sophie Meredith, Limerick/St. Mary’s A.C. with
Vicki Cusack, Cork/Liscarroll A.C. in 4th place. The Boys U/16 Triple Jump saw Joseph Miniter,
Clare/St. Mary’s A.C. win gold with bronze for Cory Kissane, Kerry/An Riocht A.C. & 4th place for
Martin Kehoe, Tipperary/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. In the Girls U/16 Triple Jump, the silver medal was
won by Rachel Bowler, Kerry/Tralee Harriers A.C. with bronze for Jade O’Farrell Bond,
Tipperary/Borrisokane A.C. In the Girls U/14 Javelin, there was gold for Holly Meredith,
Limerick/St. Mary’s A.C. with bronze for Veerle Van De Wal, Tipperary/Clonmel A.C. The Boys U/14
Javelin saw Cathal Scanlon, Waterford/Waterford A.C. win bronze with 4th place for Blake Curran,
Clare. In the Girls U/14 Long Jump there was gold for Chisom Ugweru, Clare/Ennis Track A.C. with
bronze for Anna Ryan, Tipperary/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. Sean Quilter, Kerry/Tralee Harriers A.C.
took silver in the Boys U/14 Long Jump with bronze for Jake Costello, Tipperary/Carrick-On-Suir A.C.
& 4th place for Ben Sheahan, Limerick. Gary Randles, Kerry/Kenmare & District A.C. took bronze in
the Boys U/14 Shot Putt.
In the Relay competitions, Limerick won gold in the Mixed U/10, U/13 & U/15 & the U/16 Girls 4 x
100m & silver in the Girls U/12 & U/14 4 x 100m. Clare won gold in the Girls U/12 & U/14 4 x 100m,
silver in the Boys U/14 4 x 100m & 4th place in the Boys U/12 4 x 100m & Mixed U/16 4 x 200m.
Kerry won gold in the Boys U/14 4 x 100m, bronze in the Mixed U/15 4 x 100m & 4th place in the
Mixed U/13 4 x 100m. Cork won silver in the Girls U/16 4 x 100m with Tipperary winning bronze in
the Boys U/16 4 x 100m.
