Start a new warm-up paper. Write #5 at the top.
Please write the date and question:
10/20: What does “homeostasis” mean
and what is an example?
Homeostasis is the maintenance of stable internal
conditions despite changes to the environment. An
example is body temperature. Regardless of how hot or
cold it is outside, our bodies temperatures stay at about
98.6 degrees F.
Reminder:
-There is a quiz tomorrow over natural selection,
adaptations, behaviors, and relationships. Review
questions are due on Friday. You do not need to
answer in complete sentences.
-Please take report cards home. Don’t need to be
signed and returned.
How do organisms coexist and rely on
one another?
Objective of the day...
-Analyze risk factors to biological
systems associated with exotic invasive
species
Mission: We will be incredible
science students.
Alligator vs Python
Exotic species
Organisms that are living in an area that they are not native to.
An invasive species is a plant, fungus, or animal species that is not native to
a specific location (an introduced species), and which has a tendency to
spread to a degree believed to cause damage to the environment, human
economy or human health.

• Research your assigned exotic invasive species
and complete the research sheet.
• Write the most important information on the
whiteboard to share with the class that shows
the impact of the exotic species.
• Decide what you will share when you present.
Not everything you say needs to be on the
board. Each person must say at least 1 fact
about the exotic species when your group
presents.
