Dear Students,
It’s vacation time again! There is no doubt that the vacations are the most
appropriate time for the students to refresh and rejuvenate themselves. The uphill
task of keeping you fruitfully occupied must be the top most priority in our
mind.
Some interesting, innovative and creative project work has been planned
for you to enable you to widen your horizon. Kindly do the work yourself under
the guidance and supervision of your parents.
General Instruction
1. The holiday homework is based on the theme –“World of Plants and Animals”.
This theme has been used in all the subjects in the best possible way.
2. All the work should be handwritten and done neatly.
3. Original drawings/illustrations and creative use of material will be appreciated.
4. Present your work on A-4 size sheets and put it in an attractive folder with your name
and class clearly mentioned on it.

1. Read any one of the stories given below (online) Elephant and Friends

 The Oak Tree and the Reeds
2. Write about the main character of the story in ten lines that you have read on a sheet.
3. Do Q 1,2 & 3 given on page 5 of MCB on ruled sheets.

1. Make Flash Cards of digits 0 to 9 on one side paste/draw the photograph of any animal
and on other side write the number, then draw the cards and solve the questions given
below:
 Form any four 4-digit even numbers.
 Arrange the even numbers formed by you in ascending order.
 Form any four 4-digit odd numbers.
 Arrange the odd numbers formed by you in descending order.
 Write the largest 4-digit number and write its successor. Write the smallest 4-digit
number and write its predecessor
 Find the sum and difference of the predecessor and successor formed by you.

2. Solve the following questions:a. 179 birds were sitting in a tree. 38 more birds flew up to the tree. How many birds were
there altogether in the tree?
b. 231 birds were sitting in a tree. Some more fly up to the tree. Then there were 312 birds
in the tree. How many more fly up to the tree?
c. A city has 3 zoos. One zoo has 213 animals, the second zoo has 68 animals and the third
zoo has 177 animals. How many animals do all the zoos have in total?
3. Make a pocket diary of tables 2-15. Front cover can be your favourite animal/flower.

1) Preparation of a Science File:
 You will need to make a file on Like plants we see a huge range of variations in the breeds of animals too. You could also
choose to prepare a file about the different breeds of Dogs (at least 5 types) and write about
them. Information about each type should be brief with coloured pictures to make it more
visual and attractive.
2) You will need to make a model of any ONE of these:
 Life Cycle of Hen (Chapter -5)
 Parts of a bird’s body (Chapter -7)
Subject : Social Studies
1. Paste pictures of 10 different types of animals found in forests in your scrap book with
name.
2. Paste pictures of 10 different types of plants in your scrap book with name.
3. Make a poster on ‘Save Trees’ in your scrapbook.
