About London
There is no other city like London
It is famous all over the world. It has some of the most famous places
to visit. You can see these interesting and famous places in your map
pack.
The River Thames flows through the centre of London. Many bridges
are built across the river from the South Bank to the North Bank.
The most famous bridge is Tower Bridge and the newest is the
Millennium Bridge.
London is a very big place!
Over seven million people live in London. It is divided into 32 different
districts and boroughs. Many different groups of people live in these
areas and they have done so for hundreds of years. Each group of
people have their own identity and their own way of doing things. This
includes the way they dress, the food they eat, their music and their
language. The Chinese are famous for their food in Chinatown and
beyond.
