Have you considered serving God’s people as a priest, deacon, brother or sister? For more information, call the
Rectory or the Archdiocesan Office of Vocations at 314-792-6460.
PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: ANOINTING and HOLY COMMUNION
The Sacrament of Anointing is for anyone seriously ill or anticipating surgery. It is available after any Sunday Mass or
by appointment with one of the priests. Holy Communion will be brought on Sundays to anyone who is unable to
come to Church; call the Rectory Office (ext. 1,10).
Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time
January 29, 2017
Beyond Sunday is an Archdiocesan program designed to ensure the
viability of Catholic Education in “the here and now” as well as the
future! This program has already had a significant positive financial
impact on schools across the Archdiocese via scholarships awarded last
year. Holy Child School was the recipient of a significant number of
these scholarships. Holy Child School in conjunction with Immaculate
Conception Parish will soon be kicking off our Beyond Sunday
Campaign. This campaign has been implemented at Catholic parishes
and schools for the past two years. It was rolled out in phases. Those
parishes in Phase 1 participated last year. Our parish and school is
slated to begin its campaign in early 2017. Every Parish/School will
take part in this campaign by next year.
Beyond Sunday also awards grants to schools to finance capital
improvements to parochial schools. Holy Child for example, was
recently selected as a finalist for a Beyond Sunday Grant written by
Mr. Cullen Brokaw and myself to update our technology infrastructure
capabilities and to purchase cutting edge equipment. Mrs. Wendy
Haglin will head this committee and will be posting more information
in the coming weeks. She needs “boots on the ground” to help facilitate
this campaign. If done correctly, we stand to profit considerably as a
parish and school. Let’s come together to make Holy Child School
viable for years to come.
May God bless you and your family,
Mr. Dwight Elmore
Principal

WOMEN OF FAITH
Our February meeting will be Tuesday the 14th.
Yes, it's Valentine's Day so a great time to come
visit with friends. The meeting begins at 7PM in
the lower level of the parish center. Annette
Geger will talk to us about respite care for
fostering families. This will be an opportunity to
learn about how we may be able to provide
support and help to family caregivers. We will
be finalizing plans for the square dance on
Saturday, March 4th. Mark your calendars. This
is always great fun and you don't need to have
any experience. Instructions will be part of the
event. On Saturday, March 18th we are meeting
from 9AM-noon to brainstorm about clarifying
and shaping the vision of our group. More details
will follow. We are a growing group and welcome all women of the parish to join us.

Immaculate Conception
Parish School of Religion
In today’s Gospel, we hear about the Beatitudes. Living the Beatitudes is nothing new for parents. We
often set our needs and desires aside in order to care for others, especially our children. Our greatest
challenge is to be a living witness to the first Beatitude. If we understand and live out being “poor in
spirit”, the rest falls into place. When we are “poor in spirit”, we rely completely on God.
Have a blessed week!
