The Event
The inaugural Masters tournament in 1934 was known as the Augusta
National Invitational before adopting its current name in 1939. Since then
the status of the Masters Tournament, or US Masters as it’s more commonly
referred to, has grown to become the ultimate prize in golf and one of the
most prestigious titles in world sport.
The Venue
The hallowed grounds of the Augusta National Golf Club provide the perfect
backdrop for a tournament that is every bit as colourful as the azaleas that
burst into flower to welcome the world every April. Indeed, the course was
originally the site of a plant nursery and its heritage is ever present courtesy
not only of its perfectly manicured fairways and gardens but also in the
names of each of its magnificent 18 holes including Magnolia (5th), Camellia

Game of Golf on Friday 8th April Pay Your Deposit to Guarantee

Friday is a designated golfing day and the chance to put your own game
to the test with 18 holes at one of Augusta’s best clubs. Options include
the Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation, Palmetto Golf Club and The
River Golf Club. Fees are circa USD$280 per player based on groups
of four and includes green fee, motorised cart, range balls, club hire
and lunch at the club. Bookings are available to be made when you’ve
booked your Masters package and tee-time availability is normally fine if
booked in December or early January.

Flights to the USA + Getting to
Augusta
Fanatics is a fully registered travel agent & able to cater for all your
international flight needs in conjunction with your Masters package.
In terms of getting to Augusta, by far the the cheapest option is to
fly into Atlanta Airport (230km from Augusta) or Columbia Airport
(110km), pick up a hire car and self-drive to Augusta. The roads are
great and directions very simple using sat-nav.
Alternatively, a shuttle from Atlanta Airport to Augusta will cost circa
$300-$400 for up to 4 passengers. It’s a decent option if travelling with
a friend or three.
Flights in & out of Augusta Airport (AGS) are obviously much more
expensive around Masters time and most require a change at Atlanta
or Charlotte, if coming in from LA for example. US Airways and Delta
are the two main airlines with regular services into AGS. Upon arrival
at AGS it’s approx 13 miles/$50 taxi ride to the hotel or Augusta
National.

of your favourites hitting off early. Attention
turns to the leading contenders in the
afternoon. The final five pairings tee off from
2pm-2:40pm, pending rain interruptions, with
the final putt on the 72nd hole dropping
around 6pm. The atmosphere around the
course is simply unbeatable and we’ll be right
in the middle of it.
This evening is our final night in Augusta and
no matter who wins it’s always the perfect
reason for celebration!

After two magnificent days of playing golf we
now turn our attention to the ultimate golf
tournament, the US Masters.
We transfer from our hotel to San Diego
International Airport (known as Lindbergh
