Please remember the Yews in your will and we shall always

The gift of a legacy would be deeply appreciated and we would strive
to recognise your generosity by arranging a plaque in your honour.
You might prefer your gift to be anonymous, either way we will be
happy to discuss the options with you.
Thank You

Please remember the Yews
in your will and we
shall always remember you.
Legacies are essential to the future of The Yews (Haywards Heath)
Community Partnership.
Have you remembered to make a will? Please think of us when making
your will. We depend on donations large or small in order that we can
remain part of our community.
Who are we? The Yews came into existence in 1969 as a unique kind of
community centre based at 55 Boltro Road in the centre of Haywards
Heath. In July 2011 West Sussex County Council handed over the building
and the running of the centre to a new body, independent of the Council,
called The Yews (Haywards Heath) Community Partnership. This was a new
charitable company limited by guarantee which is now responsible for the
day to day running of the centre. Income depends on rental income from
those who use the centre, from fund raising within the town, and from
grants and donations. Without donations the Yews will not survive.
Some 28 groups use the centre covering a wide range of disabilities and
special needs. Many of these groups have very limited resources as they
themselves depend on charity to exist.
The building has undergone considerable improvements and more
changes are planned when money can be provided. The building is
becoming more user-friendly.
By remembering us in your will you will help to secure our future. We
recommend you discuss this with your Solicitor or adviser.
At the present time it is our understanding that monies left to us are
exempt from inheritance tax. Your solicitor will explain the advantages to
your estate.
If you have already made a will it is not to late to include us in a codicil.
Our understanding of current
legislation is that as a registered
charity, all monies left to us are
exempt from inheritance tax. You
can also reduce inheritance tax on
your taxable estate by donating to a
charity. This means more of your
money goes to the people and
causes you care about most and not
to the tax man.
The four main types
of gifts left in wills are:
Pecuniary Legacy
Sum of money.
Residuary Legacy
Gift of an estate or percentage of an
estate.
Specific Legacy
An item to be used or sold by The
Yews (Haywards Heath) Community
Partnership.
Reversionary Legacy
Assets or sum of money pledged to
The Yews but held in a trust to be
enjoyed by a loved one in their
lifetime.
