KING OF GLORY
Psalm 24
No guts, no glory! This phrase, which seems to originate with Major General Frederick C.
Blesse during the Korean War, has come to epitomize the American way. Our pursuit of glory is
often self-centered and self-powered. Psalm 24, however, helps us recognize that Christ selflessly
gave of himself, all of himself, to glorify the Father. So also, our Christian life has that singular
devotion!
1. Where do you notice yourself settling too easily or quickly on fading passions? What types of
“commercials” entice you?
2. Is it more of a struggle to keep clean hands or a pure heart? How does Christ help? 3. How does the fact that the King of Glory is “mighty in battle” and “Lord of hosts” comfort you?
4. How does the promise of receiving blessing from the LORD encourage you? What does that
look like in light of Psalm 24?
5. Jesus is our Temple, and because of Him the dwelling place of God is with men, both now and
for all eternity. How does this promise shape your perspective this week? RMCC
