FAQ’s
Depositing checks at The Summit just got easier with our new Mobile Check
Deposit service. Just sign and notate Mobile Check Deposit on the back of your check,
snap a photo with your smartphone and submit it. It’s that fast and easy!
Frequently Asked Questions
What devices are supported?
Mobile Check Deposit works with a variety of supported smartphones and other devices utilizing the built-in camera for
the capture of check images. The most current list of supported devices is as follows:
Apple’s App Store
• iPhone • iPhone Classic • iPod touch 4G and iPad 2 (and later)
• 3G
• 3GS
• 4G
•5
• 5C
• 5S
Google Play - Smartphones with the Android 1.6 Operating System or greater.
Who is eligible for Mobile Check Deposit?
Members:
• With a smart phone or iPad with the Summit App
• Eighteen (18) years of age or older
• With a share account balance greater than negative $530
• That are eligible for Courtesy Pay
• That are not past fifteen (15) days delinquent on any Credit Union loan or obligation
How do I determine the age of eligibility if I have a joint membership?
The birthday of the primary member determines eligibility.
What are the limitations on deposit frequency and dollar amount?
The maximum daily deposit limit is $2,000 and the maximum cumulative deposit is $10,000 in a rolling thirty (30) day
period.
What is the Check Hold Policy?
The first $300.00 of your deposit will be available immediately. Any amount that is over $300.00 will be available for
withdrawal on the fourth (4th) business day. Please Note: Holds will apply to ALL check types, including but not limited
to payroll, government and certified checks. Mobile Check Deposit Service does not recognize specific types of checks.
If you need the funds immediately we suggest going to your local Summit branch or Co-Op Shared Branch.
How does the transaction display in the history?
You will see the deposit as a Shared Branch transaction. It will also have a comment that states “The Summit FCU Mobile”.

How long will it take to see my deposit?
The check is deposited immediately, but may take 2 -3 minutes to reflect in the available balance. You may also need to
refresh your screen or log out of Mobile Banking and log back into your account to see the
deposit reflected in your balance.
When will I be able to view my check images online?
As soon as the following business day.
Why can’t I select to deposit into my linked accounts?
Mobile Check Deposit is designed to allow deposits with the account you are currently logged into through Mobile
Banking. If you would like to use Mobile Check Deposit with an account that you have linked to your personal account,
you will need to log directly into that account to proceed. The linked account will also need to meet the requirements to
be eligible for Mobile Check Deposit. Helpful Hint: Deposit the check into your personal account and then transfer the
funds to the linked account. If the deposit is greater than $300 you will need to wait the 4 business days for the check
hold to be released to transfer the funds. Please refer to our Mobile Check Deposit Disclosure and Agreement for more
information.
Why can’t I select my HSA or IRA shares to make a deposit?
HSA and IRA shares have deposit and withdrawal regulations and are not available with the Mobile Check Deposit feature.
Why can’t I select my Money Market Account to make a deposit?
The Money Market deposit functionality is not available for Mobile Check Deposit. You will still have the capability to transfer
funds from your other shares into your Money Market account. We apologize for the inconvenience.
