THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM is celebrated on most Sundays at
1:30 PM (not during Lent). A family must be registered in the
parish, attend the baptismal preparation class, and cooperate
with the regulations established by the parish. Our baptismal class
is held on the 1st Monday of the month at 8:00 PM. Please call
the Parish Center to register any time during your pregnancy.
THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION is celebrated on Saturday

THE SACRAMENT OF THE SICK is administered at home to any
Catholic who is seriously ill. Please call the Parish Center. Any

however, it is necessary for the family to “request” it.
THE SACRAMENT OF MATRIMONY is celebrated by the Pastor or one
of our deacons. Weddings may be scheduled on Friday evening,

couples choosing to live together in contradiction of those values, will
receive a simple ceremony and all Diocesan regulations followed.

FATHER BOB’S SCHEDULE
Father Bob will be leaving for Rome Monday, June
27th and will return Tuesday, July 5th. Father
Edmund Luciano will be traveling with Father Bob.
Father Bob is going to Rome in honor of his friends’
25th Wedding Anniversary that falls on June 29th,
the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
“If anyone wishes to come after
me, he must deny himself and
take up his cross daily and
follow me.”
Luke 9:23
We are not very good at “denying ourselves” in our
society. Our current economic situation is evidence of
what happens when people think they can have
everything they want. Jesus calls us to set our own
personal “wants” aside so that we have the resources to
follow Him instead.

MEDITATION FOR
June 19, 2016
We are to take up our cross each day
and follow Jesus.
The Messiah was expected to free
the Jewish people from
oppression, and restore the
freedom and holiness of their
nation. Jesus instead reveals that
the Messiah will suffer, die and
be raised from the dead, and that
true discipleship requires selfdenial and sacrifice.
Understanding this, let us take up our cross each day and
follow Jesus.
The first reading from Zechariah foretells mourning by
the inhabitants of Jerusalem over one they have slain,
which will be followed by repentance. The second
reading reminds us that in and through baptism we are
made one in Christ. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches that
living as His disciples requires taking up one’s cross each
day and following Him.

MINISTRY TO THE SICK PLEASE HELP!
Have you ever wondered what can I do to follow Jesus Christ
and help the needs of others? Your thought is my schedule is
full and I cannot commit to volunteer on a regular basis. We
can help you fill that void and be part of our Ministry on your
terms. If you can spare about two hours or less twice a month
to help our seniors with transportation to and from doctor
appointments. We work around your availability and time. I
promise it is a rewarding feeling to see the gratitude of those
you help. Some of our clients have no family, or their family
lives too far away to assist them. Can you give it a try with no
obligation or schedule to keep? You volunteer on your terms
and time.
For additional information, please call Dorothy Wiley at
732-297-2619.
