Dear Parents/Carers of Willow Class,
This week in English we have continued to focus on phonics, and have been reading Wolf
won’t bite by Emily Gravett. In Maths we have been counting back and subtracting using
a number line.
Next week in English we will use a different book by Emily Gravett as another example of
repeated phrasing to help learn about characters in a story. In Maths we will continue to
work on subtraction.
To support the children’s learning in next Friday’s English lesson every child needs to
bring in a soft animal toy. Just a small one please!
The children need to bring back their library books on Monday so that they can return or
renew them during our library session.
Golden Rule: This week’s Golden Rule of the week is “We are gentle”. The Golden Rule
Champion this week is Anna. Next week the Golden Rule is “We are look after property”.
Homework this week is to be completed in the blue homework book. Please talk to your
child about Remembrance Day and the meaning behind it.
World War 1 Day: The children will take part in a selection of activities next Friday linked
to the First World War. They do not need to dress up.
MyMaths: We know that there have been a few issues accessing the activities online. This
homework is an extra activity and is not compulsory. However, if you would like a paper
copy, I can organise this for you. Next Wednesday Mr Mills-Bishop will be running a
workshop for parents at 3.15pm in the KS2 hall to give a demonstration and to answer
any questions you may have about this website.
Polite reminder: For health and safety reasons the gate outside our classroom must
remain closed before and after school. Thank you.
If your child has a temperature or has been sick overnight please keep them at home! If
they have been sick they must be kept off school for 48 hours. We encourage
sharing…but not your germs!
