Performing a locked print to a Ricoh copier/printer When you have the print screen open, you will see the name of your default printer displayed. Left click on the down triangle at the end of the box and then left click on the Ricoh copier/printer that you want to use to print so that it displays in the name field. All of the Ricoh copier/printers have RMP in the name. Left click on the Properties button to the right of the name field and you will see either the following window or something similar dependent upon the model of the Ricoh unit to which you will print. Find the Job Type field, which will say Normal Print as in the above example. Left click on the black triangle on the right of the field, and left click on Locked Print and then it should look similar to the screen below. The next step is to find the Details button which in this example is below the Job Type field; however on some models this button comes up on the computer to the right of the Job Type field. The following is the screen that will open when you left click on the Details button. If you have done a locked print previously, both fields may have information published in them such as the job name in viewable text, and a series of dots for the password. You may now type up to 8 alpha and/or numeric characters for the User ID – this is the print job name you will look for at the Ricoh copier/printer. Then you need to enter a password of 4 to 8 numeric only digits. You will need this password to get into your print job and the keypad on the Ricoh copier/printer only has numeric digits. When done, the screen will look like the following. The Technology Support team cannot recover your password they can only delete the job from the print queue, so make the password something you will remember. Left click on the OK button, which takes you back to the next screen where you can also Left click on the OK button. That brings you back to the standard print screen as per below. From this screen you may choose the number of copies you will print or which pages you will print – all of the standard choices even if you want to collate or not. Once you have that done you should left click on the OK button and then when you are ready go to the Ricoh copier/printer to which you sent your print job. At the Ricoh unit, you will need to press the Printer button (on the left hand side on this model) as per the picture below. Note, the copy button has a green light next to it. You will press the button labeled Printer. You should see the following screens. From the Main printer screen, touch the display button that says Print Jobs. When you do, the display will change to show what print jobs are in the queue. From above, I named the print job Example1, as you can see from the picture, it is in the list. Also of note, the display shows that the display button All Jobs and Complete List are highlighted. The next step is to press on the display where it says Example1. When you do, it will also highlight to amber. Then you will press the display Print button. When you do that, you will receive the following screen. At this point, you will need to enter the 4 to 8 digit numeric password you created earlier using the number buttons on the Ricoh copier/printer. Mine was 8 characters long. After you have your password entered, press the display button OK. When you do that, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to print the following, and it will show you the User ID and the name of the File. When you choose yes, your document will print out. When it is finished printing, the job will disappear from the Ricoh copier/printer queue. I then press the Copy button to the left of the display so that the light turns green and it is ready for the next person to make copies.
