How To Instructions

Motorize 3” Silhouette with a Somfy LT 30 RTS Motor
1. Motor Prep: To begin you will need the Somfy LT-30 Motor and Crown and Drive pack. Begin by sliding the motor crown onto the motor and then screwing
the motor drive onto the end of the motor. Be sure to use a good Philips head screwdriver when screwing in motor drive because you do not want to strip
the screw.

2. To start, gently tap off end cap that manual control side is on. Be extreme fully careful not to crack end cap when tapping off. The best method is to tap a
flat head screwdriver with a hammer on one side of end cap then other side of end cap, gradually rocking it back and forth until it is off. Once end cap is
almost out of the silhouette head rail, hold down silhouette with one hand and pull the end cap completely out of the tube, while keeping the other end of
the tube in the other end cap. Make sure screwdriver is clean so it does not stain the silhouette fabric.
3. Once end cap is off, remove the 2 clips on the head rail by sliding them off. These will not be needed and can be discarded.
Slide off and discard
4. Once end cap is off, remove the manual control by unscrewing the screw that is holding the manual control on the end cap. Manual control is no longer
needed and can be discarded.

5. Once manual control is off, screw in the lag provided in the crown and drive into the end cap.

7. Position motor clip into slit on silhouette end cap. This may take some adjusting of the lag screwed into the silhouette end cap. Once rubber motor end cap
and clip are positioned correctly, remove the motor from the rubber motor end cap and mark with a pencil in the 2 holes on the rubber motor end cap.
8. Remove rubber motor cap and drill out the 2 pencil marks using a 3/32” drill bit. NOTE: Drill the inside of the silhouette end cap first and then counter sink
the holes on the outside of the silhouette end cap so screws will sit flush with end cap.
9. After holes are drilled, place the rubber motor end cap back on the motor and slide into position on the lag and end cap. Screw motor into position using
screws provided in crown and drive pack. Screw ends can be painted to match end cap.
10. Once motor is screwed into place insert motor into tube. Begin by sliding drive into roller tube. The motor crown and drive will only fit into the roller tube
one way so do not force in tube. Twist motor crown until it smoothly slides into roller tube. Once drive and crown are in tube finish inserting motor into
tube and tap the silhouette end cap back onto the silhouette head rail.
