Samantha is the Community
Assistant (CA) for Building
19. She is originally from
Jacksonville, FL. She currently attends the University
of Florida, where she has
already earned a Bachelor’s
in Special Education. She
also expects to graduate
with a Master’s in Early
Childhood Education this
upcoming May. When asked
why she enjoys being a CA
at the District, she replied “I
love the planning and creative aspects of the position!
As Lead CA, I get to mentor
and teach younger students, which is my true
passion. I have a significant impact on the
residents and staff; not
only about living in The
District, but the struggles
of life in general.” After
graduation Samantha
plans to move back to
Jacksonville and start her
career in Education. She
says that she will miss
attending UF, because
she loves football and the
college lifestyle. Sam
would like to give each
resident a quote to encourage them in every
aspect of daily life. “A
man who has no imagination, has no wings.”

Restoration Haiti
Above all things
let us never forget
that mankind
constitutes one
great
brotherhood; all
born to encounter
suffering and
sorrow, and
therefore bound
to sympathize with
each other.
As most of us have
heard, the country
of Haiti has suffered
from a horrendous
earthquake. This
natural disaster has
plunged the country
further into poverty
and ruin. As they are
suffering, we can
only think of one
thing: “How can we
help?” This month
we implore you to
focus on the dire
situation and think
about what you can
do to help relieve
some of the burden.
For the month of
February, The District on 62nd will be
partnering with
other organizations
around the University of Florida campus and the Gainesville community to
send relief to Haiti.
We will be collecting
medical supplies,
food, monetary donations, and other
items at the front
office of the District.
We would like to get
every resident of our
community involved.
If you would like to
give a donation,
please stop by or
contact the front office.
