Employment Plan for vulnerable groups Promote the integration and insertion of vulnerable people in the labour market, to enhance their living through coordinated actions. GLOBAL AIM of S.R.C. Employment Plan To combat unemployment, discrimination and social exclusion. It helps develop the skills of people, specially those who face particular difficulties in finding a job, staying employed, or returning to work after an absence. Employment Plan for vulnerable groups STARTING POINT • IV General Assembly of SRC (1.999) STRATEGIC GUIDELINES • To develop horizontal strategies considering all the situations causing vulnerability with an integrated and comprehensive approach. • To promote measures aimed to facilitate social and labour market integration for those in risk of social exclusion. • To promote equality of opportunities in order to get a higher employability and more social inclusion of those in risk of social exclusion. Employment Plan for vulnerable groups EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION Employment is: • • • A source of incomes A tool for social integration A social integration mechanism Unemployment means: • A key factor leading to labour exclusion • An intensifying factor of social exclusion Employment Plan for vulnerable groups EMPLOYMENT PLAN AND RED CROSS PRINCIPLES HUMANITY: Currently, this principle has an important expression in the defence and recognition of rights of economic, social and cultural content. To promote the access to the labour market of those persons with special difficulties to find an employment means to reinforce their capacities and skills not only of getting a worthy life but also to make them to feel part of the well-being and the collective development. IMPARTIALITY: Many of the Employment Plan participants suffer or are capable of suffering discrimination for one or I motivate other one (nationality, religion, age, sex …). VOLUNTARY CHARACTER: In the frame of the Employment plan, the persons in situation of social disadvantage, can play a role beyond the itinerary of insertion, taking part, as volunteers, in other activities organised by Spanish Red Cross.
