Use paint, markers, colored pencils, or anything else you would like to draw it. 10 points
2.
*What do you think about nicknames? If you have one, do you like it? If not, would you like one? How do you think
nicknames affect a person? Do they affect self-image? Can they affect what others think or how they treat a person?
Write one page exploring your ideas on nicknames.* 10 points

matches the description from the book. Use materials you find around the house or recycle old materials. 10 points

Section Two: All projects in section two = 15 points
1.
*Max has changed a lot by the end of the book. Go back to the novel and explore how he has changed. How is he
different than he was at the beginning? How can you tell? What kind of person is he now? Is he someone you admire?
Why or why not? What evidence in the book shows you he has changed? Write two pages* about these changes, using
evidence from the novel to support anything you say, and answer each of the questions listed above. 15 points
2.
Create a PowerPoint of Kevin’s Dictionary. In the book, Kevin keeps his own personal dictionary. Look at his dictionary at
the back of the book. Choose 5 of Kevin’s words and create a PowerPoint presentation. Include the word, Kevin’s
definition, the actual definition from the dictionary, and then a comment on why you think Kevin changed the definition
to his particular definition instead of using the real one. Then come up with five words you would put in your OWN
dictionary and do the same thing for them. Be creative! The first five slides are Freak’s words. The last five slides are
YOUR words, made-up definitions, and reason why you gave the word that definition. You should have 10 slides. 15

*Max and Kevin are forced to deal with some real bullies in this story. Do a little research on how bullying can affect a
