The following must be answered by each officer/shareholder of a corporation and by each partner if the
applicant is a partnership.
Section 30 of The Crown Lands Act prohibits Officers, Employees and Immediate Family Members (as
defined below) from acquiring any right, title or interest in Crown lands unless authorized by the
Lieutenant Governor in Council.
“Employee” means a person employed with the Manitoba Agriculture, Sustainable Development or Manitoba
Infrastructure and includes casual, departmental, part-time, term, and regular employees.
“Immediate Family Member” means the applicant’s mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse,
common-law partner, ward, or relative permanently living in the applicant’s household.
“Officer” means a person who holds an office under The Crown Lands Act.

3. TENDER INFORMATION
I/We understand that this tender form must be accompanied by a deposit in the form of a certified cheque, bank
draft or money order, made payable to the Minister of Finance of Manitoba, for 10% of the tender amount set out
in section 1 above.
I/We hereby declare that I/we am/are eligible to hold a Cropping Lease under the terms and conditions of The
Provincial Parks Act, and the policies pertaining thereto, and hereby agree to comply with said terms and
conditions.
I/We understand that my/our tendered amount represents the annual rental on the cultivated acres (being the
acreage set out above) for the term of the lease, and except for the first year of tender, that one-half of the full

rental plus applicable GST will be due and payable on May 1 and the balance will be payable on December 1 in
each year of the lease.
I/We understand that the lands will be occupied under a five (5) year lease agreement with the understanding that
any or all of the agricultural lands may be withdrawn by Manitoba, on thirty (30) days’ written notice, from
agricultural use.

INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
Awards
The Government of Manitoba (“Manitoba”) reserves the right to reject any or all tenders received. In the
event the highest tendered amount results in identical bids from eligible bidders, an additional Closed
Tender will be called among these bidders.
Awarding Lease
The tender will be awarded to the highest bidder. Successful bidders will be required to enter into a formal
Cropping Lease Agreement with Manitoba, in the form attached, upon award of the tender. The Cropping
Lease Agreement will be for a period of five (5) years. A copy of the Plan(s) indicating the location and
approximate acreage of the property for lease is also attached.
Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a Canadian Citizen or landed immigrant and a resident of
Manitoba within the meaning of the Income Tax Act (Canada). Corporations must be authorized under The
Corporations Act (Manitoba) to carry on business in Manitoba. Applicants agree to be actively involved in
the management and operation of the leased lands.
Discrepancies or Omissions
Bidders finding discrepancies in, or omissions from, the Cropping Lease Agreement, General Information,
Plan(s), or other documents forming part of the tender package, or having any doubts as to the meaning or
intent of any part thereof, should at once notify Crown Lands Act Dispositions of the Crown Lands and
Property Agency so that written instructions or explanations may be provided to all bidders.
Taxes
Bidders will be responsible for municipal taxes for all lands under agricultural production. Bidders are
advised that land rent is subject to GST.
General
Bidders are to submit their tender using the Cropping Lease Tender Application form provided and complete
the form in the spaces provided, including the parcel(s) being bid on and other pertinent details to allow for
complete evaluation of the tender. You may bid on one or more of the parcels advertised for lease.
Bid Deposit
Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit of 10% of the annual bid amount in the form of a certified
cheque, money order or bank draft, made payable to the Minister of Finance of Manitoba. Deposits will be
returned to unsuccessful bidders. The successful bidder’s deposit will be credited toward the first
installment of the annual rental payment for the first year of the lease term.
Your bid will be disqualified if your deposit does not accompany your application.
Bid deposits will be forfeited and the award lost if the successful bidder does not enter into the
Cropping Lease Agreement, in the required form, by Friday, May 12, 2017.
Submission of Tenders
Each tender must be submitted in person or sent by mail in the envelope provided, sealed and addressed to
Crown Lands & Property Agency, Park Land Leases & Permits, 308-25 Tupper Street, Portage la Prairie,
Manitoba, R1N 3K1 and must be received before 12:00 noon, April 12, 2017.
The outside of the envelope containing the bid should be clearly marked with the words:
