Technical Data
The VPC take off economy brings you a lot of
PC for not a lot of money.
The extravagant exterior of the VPC take off
blends in with any design. The anodized
aluminium front is protected by a robust polyester
film that will stand up to even the most demanding environments.
The PC is operated through a resistive touch
screen, guaranteeing you complete freedom of
design. Additionally, a connection for an external
PS/2 keyboard or a mouse is provided.
The front of the system is protected to IP65, while
the IP-20 metal casing on the rear unit is HFsealed, ensuring safe operation even in conditions of maximum electromagnetic radiation.
The compact VPC take off economy can be
mounted quickly and requires little space.

The take off line hardware is designed
in modular fashion consisting of a front
unit and a PC unit. The various front
units of the take off line can be joined
with the single PC unit (either economy
or business).
The hardware elements of the take off
line are also applicable to VPC take off,
AIOvision and AIOcontrol.

The ergonomically designed front unit
of the take off line comprises the TFT
display, keypad or touch screen, and
an aluminium front covered with
polyester foil. The front unit is
protected to IP65 standard.
A glimpse into the inner workings of
the take off line PC unit. The most
important PC components: power
supply, mother board, floppy disk and
removable hard disk are all easy to
change. It is a simple matter to equip
further slots: just remove the cover on
the rear of the case to get access to
the additional slots (ISA or PCI). The
sparse cabling is also noticeable, very
practical when it comes to servicing

flat monitor with a separate PC box. This Option
is always suitable if you need flexibility in
arranging the monitor and the PC.
Communication between the PC and the monitor
is fast over VGA and you can operate safely at a
distance of up to 10 meters, whether you are
using the touch screen, the keys or the mouse.
The picture is adjusted (for vertical and horizontal size, contrast, and phase) by using menus
operated by keys on the rear of the monitor.
The hardware in the PC box is the same as in
the take off line PC units. We also supply a kit
for rack-mounting.
We recommend that you buy both units together,
but you may also purchase the box or the monitor
separately.

is always suitable if you need flexibility in
arranging the monitor and the PC.
Communication between the PC and the monitor
over VGA is fast, whether you use the touch
screen, the keys or the mouse.
Using Hubs, you can extend the distance
between the PC and the monitor to 50 meters.
These hubs guarantee safe transmission of
images, keystrokes and touch screen signals.
The picture is adjusted (for horizontal and vertical
size, contrast,± and phase) by using menus
operated by keys on the rear of the monitor.
The hardware in the PC box is the same as in
the take off line PC units. We also supply a kit
for rack-mounting.
We recommend that you purchase the monitor

The technical specifications for the AIOvision businessLine
are the same as for the comparable VPC take off.
You can develop your visualization projects either on your
desktop PC or on the AIOvision.
The AIOvision normally has both zenOn designtime and
zenOn runtime available and is thus equally suited to project
design or to operation. The connector for a 102-key
keyboard comes in very handy during configuration.
If you prefer to develop your project on your desktop PC,
you can do this provided that the zenOn designtime module
has been installed. The programs written on the desktop
PC are downloaded to the AIOvision with all the necessary
tools.
There are no limits on copying projects! You copy a master
project, make changes to it, and then save this project
under a different name.
The project data is transferred very rapidly between the
LPD interfaces on the 2 PCs. This project data can also
be transferred on suitable media such as diskettes or an
LS 120.
To simplify the installation, we have prepared a ReadMe
file containing information on the small number of settings
required for SETUP.
We supply all Options of AIOvision with the following zenOn
software pre-installed: designtime and runtime, including
the operating system and all the necessary tools. To
develop projects on a desktop PC, you need to order a
zenOn single or multi-user editor.
Just as for the VPC take off industrial PC, we supply the
AIOvision in a range of front-unit designs: Touch screen,
keys and/or front-mounted drives, in 12-inch, 15-inch or
18-inch versions (see the overview below).

AIOvision CE combines maximum reliability in operation

booting-up process with AIOvision CE; it is ready for use
immediately. We supply AIOvision CE in touch-screen or

communication: serial point-to-point, MPI or

The easy-to-maintain PCMCIA storage concept
guarantees maximum flexibility in handling your

The RAM is written to either at the PLC’s
cycle control point or on loss of power. Each
time a START command is issued, the RAM
is read and the contents are written back to

To ensure error-free production, the operators of plant and
machinery must know what is going on at any given
moment. Only then can they react quickly and accurately.
Visualization is an important instrument for displaying
complex processes and operations, in a clear and
understandable manner, to the man or woman operating
the machine. Machine-oriented visualization is therefore a
must for any automation system.
For its visualization function, AIOcontrol uses zenOn
(described in the chapter on AIOvision). zenOn has everything you need for operating and monitoring right on board
and gives you everything that you would expect from a
Windows-based program. Windowing, graphics and an
extensive symbols library are also available, as is convenient management of notifications and recipes. And it has
multi-lingual capabilities.
AIOcontrol has Designtime (a configuration tool) and Runtime right on board. As with the AIOvision, you can do the
configuration on a desktop PC if you want to. zenOn supports either touch screen or keys.
Visualization (zenOn) and control (Soft-PLC IEC1131) are
closely interlinked. So it makes sense to design the two
elements of an automation project together; configuration
time is reduced and the clarity of the projects is increased
quite considerably.
Through the integrated configuration features of zenOn
and CoDeSys, AIOcontrol creates synergies for a fast and
error-free project.

the S5-Soft PLC as 128 bytes of I/O and 128
bytes of peripheral data. In addition, on the Profibus, 256 bytes are available in the source area.

that guarantees maximum stability in the
hardware and software.
Intelligent security management (ism). First, AIO
uses intelligent security management (ism) to
check for software crashes and overcomes the
problem, as far as possible, without interrupting
production.
Securitycard AIO 890. Securitycard AIO 890
checks the AIO hardware. It carries out all the
necessary “watchdog“ functions as well as
monitoring the power supply and temperature.
The PLC’s retentive memory and the hardware
for implementing hard real-time are also
implemented on this card. The AIO 890 is
obligatory for all AIOs.
Removable hard disk. You can change the hard
disk on the AIO control with little more than a
flick of the wrist. So, after swapping out an
AIOcontrol you are back in business in minutes
with all the data immediately available.
Flash storage instead of a mechanical drive. As
an alternative to a hard disk, we supply the
AIOcontrol with Flash storage (190 MB total with
approximately 70 MB available for applications.)
